True that. I’d put it on a Dtockopedia post then link to it, Woody.

It’d be a bit silly if Patrick only got close to Republicans. Obviously tgere’s A lot of money to be made from the disaster response infrastructure in the wake of climate breakdown but there are no customers on a dead planet and that there Green New Deal sounds like a great business opportunity too... whatever your politics, it pays to be friendly but professional with both sides.

That's not his (direct day to day ) job.The share price should be derived from achievement. And potential seen from building block achievements. Like production centres and order books. And it will be , though I do harbour the hope , unpopular I guess, that the microsecond by microsecond tweets diminish somewhat . Having said which projecting success here should be fairly easy for Cannacord when they choose to ignite the engines.

Come on VRS, you were ahead of (STX) yesterday, now it’s fallen behind again, as STX storms higher.

Wake up Neill, get this share price moving!

#dynamo getting the job done. Severe weather events and affordability driving the demand for more more resilient and cheaper housing - standout responses to me are 'Opportunity zones' & a new 'office of innovation.' 2D materials can offer the solutions. Aimo. Grateful holder here. Best ellis

Just for interest re concrete -

Desulfovibrio amongst others is a microbe that can oxidise sulphur to sulphuric acid. You will find forms of sulphur in concrete and corrosion due to the acid production is evident.(You can see lumps of concrete falling off concrete structures, evident in a multi story car park in Gloucester during my last visit).
Microbes as well as nutrients need water to thrive, stop water ingress with Nanene and you will stop microbial degradation of concrete.

Indeed roger, and per the construction catapult post, modular is where the future money will be - it seems the japanese can already smell it ! Plus the 'we buy any car' founder is investing too ! Aimo. Atb. Ellis

'Japan’s biggest housebuilder enters UK market to boost modular housing.'

May 14, 2019

"Japan’s largest housebuilder will move into the UK housing market with immediate effect after striking a multi-million pound deal with Urban Splash and ;Homes England to deliver modular housing.

Offsite construction specialists Sekisui House are pioneers of modern methods of construction.

The £90m deal, which has been facilitated by lead real estate and financial advisor JLL, comprises a total new investment of £55m into regeneration company Urban Splash’s ‘House’ development business. It provides a significant boost to the UK’s modular housing industry and will help to speed up the production of much-needed new homes.

Sekisui House has invested £22m of new equity, with £30m of equity and debt funding coming from the government’s Home Building Fund, administered through Homes England.

Experienced entrepreneur Noel McKee, founder of We Buy Any Car, has also made a sizeable investment in the new partnership and will take an incremental c 5% stake.

Yoshihiro Nakai, president and representative director of Sekisui House Ltd said: “We are extremely pleased to be able to work together with Homes England and Urban Splash to establish our operations and help to create outstanding communities in the UK.

“Using modern methods of construction to build high-quality homes with short build times is one of our company’s great strengths. Our technology and know-how can help resolve pressing social issues in the UK, and I want to see us play our part effective immediately. These operations can also help bring vitality to UK regions, and we will work to make the strongest connections with the local communities.”

‘House’ is expected to deliver thousands of modular homes across England.

Minister of State for Housing, Kit Malthouse MP, said: “Sekisui House bring with them a proven track record in harnessing the modern methods of construction that are transforming home building.

“Backed by Government investment, today’s announcement will support our urgent mission to deliver more, better and faster home construction to ensure a new generation can realise the dream of homeownership.”

Sir Edward Lister, chair of Homes England, commented: “When Homes England launched last year we said we’d disrupt the housing market to increase the pace of construction. By helping bring one of the world’s largest and most innovative housebuilders to UK shores, we’re putting our money where our mouth is.

“By creating a more diverse landscape – where smaller builders such as Urban Splash get a stronger foothold – we’re rebuilding the building industry; driving up quality and improving consumer choice.”

Tom Bloxham MBE, chairman of Urban Splash, said: “We believe that there is a real opportunity in the UK housebuilding industry. We hope to leverage our 25 years of place-making experience and our recent investments into modular housing by bringing in new partners; having looked far and wide we chose Sekisui House from Japan because of the company’s unrivalled global experience in modular construction and shared values and philosophy that we are making homes not units, and a joint belief in the need for a green future.

“We are incredibly excited about the accelerated production of much-needed homes and evolving traditional practices as we embrace the benefits of innovative offsite construction. I hope it will establish us as the housing partner of choice for landowners – both public and private.”

Most comment on the scope of VRS involvement in the global leadership of change in industries which will benefit from graphene are stumped to find the words to do justice either to the challenges or to the opportunities. They are so vast; beyond comprehension

Woody has done us all an immense service in collating that summary of collaborations.
A Tour de Force!

I cannot comprehend how with even all that talent listed Neill can control events.
Most of it must self evolve. Hence his wise decision to concentrate on five - any one of which can conceivably expand to tie up thousands of staff and billions of $s/£s/EUs/Yen, and Renminbis.

Anyone who tries to short this share will have to be unusually nimble to get out in time and avoid being utterly crushed.

MTC to help transform construction in the UK

3 Nov 2018

The Manufacturing Technology Centre has joined an alliance of experts in manufacturing, digital, building performance standards and construction technology, which has been awarded leadership of a new national hub to drive innovation and technological advances in the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Following a nationwide competition, Innovate UK has awarded £72 million to the Transforming Construction Alliance to deliver a national Core Innovation Hub, which is a key element of the Transforming Construction programme....."

"....The Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund will strengthen research and innovation in science and business in the UK. Its Transforming Construction programme aims to support £600 billion worth of infrastructure and construction projects over the next decade, creating new processes and techniques including standardisation of modular components for manufacture."

".....There is huge potential for transformation of large parts of the construction sector to a manufacturing industry. The widespread appetite for change throughout the industry and the impact that this change will have on so many aspects of life in the UK make us enormously excited to be delivering this pivotal role. The MTC brings several key capabilities to the hub, such as design and simulation, and process and manufacturing systems development, including automation and visualisation. The complementary skills of the alliance partners will ensure we deliver for industry and Government.”
BRE director Martin Ganley said:

“BRE is one of the world’s leading independent knowledge centres in construction testing and performance standards for the built environment. BRE will provide expertise in the testing and validation of new products, processes, data and assets, and will support the move to digitising construction. It will also provide a leading role in industry engagement and the deployment of demonstrators at the BRE site in Watford.”

Professor Andy Neely, pro-vice-chancellor: enterprise and business relations at the University of Cambridge and director of the Centre for Digital Built Britain, said, with Government and industry poised for change, the funding of the alliance is timely.

“The alliance brings together three trusted organisations with strong research, development and engagement programmes to deliver the evidence base and value case for change, alongside those who will benefit most from it. CDBB will collaborate widely to deliver a digital programme that will create the framework to underpin the future built environment and grow export opportunities for the UK,” he sad..."
