Hew - this not just a VRS problem but endemic in the AIM. I intend to post the same on other boards and hope they will respond as well as our VRS investors. Also twitter and even the comments section of online newspapers. If anyone who posts regularly on other boards, please post as it would be easier accepted on the board by known posters. Got to cast the net as wide as possible to be in with a shout at getting enough signatures.

This is an incredible coincidence. On Thursday I opened a government petition to ban the shorting of companies shares on AIM. 5 supporters are required before it is ratified which was done on Friday. I was just awaiting ratification before posting here, amazing. As the earlier one has already been signed it may be inadvisable to ask anyone to sign mine and dilute the number of signatories. TM

DGD, do you think people on other well populated AIM share threads would accept duplicates of your initial post (plus a progress count) as reasonable, rather than being resented as an intrusion? Choosing shares that have suffered shorting. Knowing which easier said than done of course.

I wonder what others think?

Superg1 - If the dissemination of false information for financial gain is illegal then it really is about time these people are held to account.

Hedging and taking short positions is catered for in the derivatives market. Outright shorting is just a way of avoiding the margin payments that have to be lodged so positions can be taken for no outlay. That's what encourages unscrupulous behaviour.
