It's 50kg of polymer, not 50kg of graphene though right?

molatov - we have not a clue. McLaren paid £100k for their Kg, but that was two years ago. Could be more or less now, who knows: not a scooby what Aecom have paid...

[edit] but the two orders - for 50Kg and then 200Kg - could easily be worth this half's entire turnover just by themselves, maybe a lot more.

and those amounts are just for final testing - when the real orders for production come through they should be much, much larger...

Aecom - wow. The first big order. To all the faithful, loyal and of course to VRS well done. I think we have confirmed the makings of a great British company. I'm going to be buying today.

Not sure I can see anything remotely negative in that...In fact pretty staggering.

They have kept costs down incredibly well.

Top work. Just affirms my thoughts that to sell in next year is not a smart move.

Company is building from strength to strength.
Those skeptics now got an overview of the "weight" of the material they were waiting for.
They could also easily be profitable in the second half.

6 December 2018Versarien plc("Versarien" or the "Company")AECOM Collaboration UpdateVersarien plc (AIM: VRS), the advanced materials engineering group, is pleased to announce that it has signed a supply agreement to provide Versarien's new graphene enhanced polymer range to AECOM for a current infrastructure project. This supply agreement follows the collaboration the Company entered into with AECOM, a US headquartered and Fortune 500 company, announced on 24 August 2018. This collaboration covered a project that AECOM and Versarien have been undertaking involving the incorporation of Versarien's graphene nano-platelets into large scale polymer structures used in civil infrastructure projects, with a view to increasing their structural strength. AECOM have confirmed the first Statement of Work ("SOW") from the supply agreement which includes the supply of 50 kg of Versarien's graphene enhanced polymer material to be delivered in early December 2018, with a further SOW expected to cover the delivery of 200 kg in early January 2019. These quantities will be used for final testing of the structures and upon successful completion of final tests, the companies expect to make further announcements in Q1 2019.Neill Ricketts, CEO of Versarien, commented: "We are delighted that our collaboration with AECOM has progressed as we had anticipated."This application has significant potential for Versarien, as the volumes of graphene that are required in these types of structure are significantly larger than for many other applications given the scale of the structures being produced."We look forward to continuing to work with AECOM on the final phases of testing and look forward to making further announcements on this project in the New Year."

Neil then goes on to say:

It would take roughly 38,000 barrels to house 1t of pure graphene at roughly 2500m2/g if it did indeed have mass. I can run you though the calcs if you want?

I would take him up on that offer, you certainly cannot get to 1 ton = 38K barrels of oil (weight per unit volume) from single layer graphene having a mass of 1g/2500 m2 (i.e. weight per unit area) the units on the two sides of the equation do not match, you need to input a height dimension for the single layer graphene for it to make any sense.

I reckon the recent publicity about most commercial graphene just isn't good enough
has done us a massive favour...companies will be very wary of who they go to.
