22/11/2018 09:07 | Steve hodges tweet to woody looks even more relevant/exciting today ? :) Aimo. Best ellis " Nanosteve @Nanosteve Replying to @HelenMi72345376 1. VRS licenced something we invented and thought I'd see that through to the final product" | ellissj

22/11/2018 08:55 | Super. CPU development has been following Moore's law for decades now. It was in 2015 they had more power than a mouse brain, hence explosion of driverless car technology. In 10 yrs pc will be bigger than human brain capacity | ![]() flatcoat1
22/11/2018 08:44 | Been in and around Tokyo Int airport for last 30hrs !!!! Only so much you can handle :-( ... recharged fone 3 times ffs !!! Still 4hrs to take off then 9hrs to Sydney .. in a time warp on and off this bb... all good things coming tho ;-) .. | ![]() squire007
22/11/2018 08:43 | Looks very much like uoc imo. Best ellis "After identifying market motivated and narrowly defined areas where graphene could make a difference, six spearhead projects were selected for funding. They focus on a wide range of application areas, from solutions for 5G data transmission to solar energy and wearable electronics, but all have the common goal to develop new or improved products with integrated graphene or related materials (GRM)." | ellissj
22/11/2018 08:42 | We were shown some kit that was about 10ft by 10ft, it stood about 20ft tall. I was trying to take in all the bits and pieces about it but there were too many parts to digest. It was to produce carbon nano tubes so I immediately wondered how much a large piece of kit could produce. The answer was 0.6g but on a good day up to 1 gram. | ![]() superg1

22/11/2018 08:34 | Indeed, with many irons glowing red hot in the fire, possible we have a spearhead in there too ! Imo. Glalth. Best ellis. | ellissj

22/11/2018 08:32 | Wonder who the the industrial partners might be (if applicable) in such spearhead projects ? Interesting ! Imo. Best ellis | ellissj
22/11/2018 08:30 | Occult. There maybe another coloboration which has yet to be announced which could be bigger yet. We know graphene is required for 5g technology, it helps improve battery life, can be used for foldable screens and can help with CPU cooling and speed so can see a huge deal with a mobile manufacturer. Just be nice to see one of the team in South Korea at some point | ![]() flatcoat1
22/11/2018 08:29 | If so, 'spearhead' look to be commercialisation projects where the intention is to create end use/products ? Imo. Best ellis | ellissj
22/11/2018 08:28 | @ratpat999 everyone knows the bears made out like bandits in UKOG. It was a classic Lenigas stock promotion. Lenigas himself also made a fortune by buying shares and awarding himself options at a negligible price and selling them for millions. NR has reportedly only invested £4000 in VRS his stock and options are worth over £20m. NR is highly promotional, and makes greater use of people like Justin Vox podcasts, who appeals to the unsophisticated end of the AIM market. Shall we talk about TERN another stock promotion that traded to 45p+ now? After the promotion ran out of steam it has come down to 12p. | ![]() loglorry1
22/11/2018 08:27 | There's this type of spearhead superg ? Atb. Ellis "Opening date: 2 October 2018 Deadline: 19 November 2018 at 08:00 CET Duration: 36 months from 1 April 2020 Overall indicative budget: up to 43.6 M€ Indicative budget per SHP: The budget should be appropriate to reach the project goals. As a guideline, 10-15 SPH are expected to be funded, however this range is non-restrictive and more or fewer projects can be funded. A spearhead project (SHP) is an ambitious, well-defined application-oriented subproject of the Graphene Flagship (GF). Each SHP must involve at least one GF Core 2 partner. Each SHP must be led by an industrial company or a research institute focusing on technology transfer, and be motivated by market opportunities. Moreover, it must have a well-defined value chain as well as objectives and deliverables on TRL 6 or above, The SHP topic must be one where European industry can be expected to take the results further. Conditions for eligibility, and instructions on the content, confidentiality and evaluation are provided on the Graphene Flagsh Page Contact: IT Crew Publishing date: 10 October 2018 11:2" | ellissj

22/11/2018 08:19 | Flatcoat: yes, that is a really nice collab to have. As long as they are eating burgers and chips wrapped in nanene enhanced packaging. I would love to see some other sporting collabs - perhaps with an F1 team | occultusverum1
22/11/2018 08:17 | "Graphene composites can block more than 99.99% of high-frequency EM radiation" - and facilitate heat dissipation at the same time. A very useful dual function! | ![]() grabster
22/11/2018 08:15 | Over 300 posts to read and no time at the moment. Apologies if comments along these lines have been posted. During the materials centre and graphene centre visit I was blown away by the enthusiasm of staff and the mass of technical equipment available. In the case of VRS it sticks the access to equipment and staff comments in bold capital letters and underlined. VRS have an interest in the relevant centres and those centres in the case of the UOM and Cambridge graphene have an interest in VRS. Such kit would cost a fortune and through VRS the acccess and expertise is there for big companies. EG For one piece of measuring kit it’s so sensitive a building had to be put in place to house it. 2 metre thick concrete which was said to be the 2nd largest concrete pour after the shard. It puts it into perspective. The range of kit and myriad of changes that can be made to metals and composites was mind boggling. More on that later. One word stood out for me repeated by some staff, spearhead. So when I have time I’ll be looking up spearhead projects in batteries, supercapacitors and solar power, as it seemed to me that’s where a lot of the graphene ink interest lies. | ![]() superg1
