SG - Unfortunately it seems to be a Herculean task to get the FCA/AIM/SFO moving on a case like this. Maybe they get too many complaints from PIs?

I think the best way of getting the case looked at is for VRS to make it an issue with AIM as they have to listen. A PI complaint without all the incriminating evidence is probably going to end up in the pending tray.

VRS don’t have to tie up lots of management time, just present the details they have and the suspicions - after all AIM are keen to clean up their image and they have access to all the trading and PB share placing data.

Sounds so simple doesn’t it.....!

Super - I'd *love* to talk to the heads of AIM. I'd love to ask them how - in the case of PRG - a 'binding MOU' (as we've established, MOUs are binding anyway, so this one must have been *doubly* so) can just disappear, like the company itself, in a puff of smoke without any further reference, and how a company can disappear overnight. As you probably know, latest thinking is is that if we're successful with Northland (and of course that's still a big IF) Manduca is next. I'd love to see him on the witness stand torn apart under cross-examination..

Just so some know what I'm going on about.

As said before I had a message re an apparent sudden increase in shorts pre the PB news and a comment of something odd going on.

I didn't give it a 2nd thought until the fund raise news came up. The at the AGM a tweet was pointed out to me by a PI pre the news. The person tweeting links back to the bear lot.

So the next obvious though process is to establish options when you do that. Well the easy option (the way I see it) is to go to primarybid for the same amount you have shorted.

EG it goes like this.

Short 10k 20k and so on late last week say 180p (or earlier) having got a sniff of a 145p fund raise. Easy money as all you do is go to primarybid and apply for the same amount.

Hand over the stock to cover the short and the position is closed. It was an easy 35p per £1.80 'spent'.

In SB terms £10k = £100 per point = £3,500. £100k.. £1000 per point = £35k made for doing nothing and at no apparent risk.

So if that did go on and there were a few of them, wouldn't you find it odd re timing of the shorts and that all were conveniently late on a Friday afternoon (when most of the city are on there way home) with Primarybid accounts open and with the cash in them to stick their bid in.

Then when did that cash get transferred into primarybid.

You can see with a little effort how it could all get very smelly for certain folk if the above did go on.

Lovat re

it seems a very straightforward investigation for the regulators to find the facts. Can they be bothered is the key question?

I have been the FCA way before it was test route and it was a fail.

If we can establish that something material went on (I believe it did for now) then the best route is via the city fraud squad.

As we know they say the FCA do nothing and Aim regulators do nothing. I think everyone gets too blinkered re that and thinks that is the only route so become disheartened.

There are other options and via that route there is an obligation to do something and give feedback.

First up background work to try to establish what went on pre the PB news, did shorts go in. If I get message re usual short behaviour before the news that was unknown and that has a bad smell about it. Then tweets close to the topic just add fuel to the fire.

As many said on PRG they either do something or do nothing. They chose do something with some solid work by CS.

Personally I'd like to talk the the AIM heads, I believe they are supporters of action re what goes on. As I've said before there is a gap between the FCA and AIM that needs filling. The AIM needs it's own squad if they want to clean up the AIM casino.

Lucky. The shares I bought will not be “hitting the market”. They will be sitting firmly in my account. I also suspect that if there is some selling of PB shares they will be bought by others

I met an intelligent very busy middle aged engineer today who passed fleetingly through my life, and I will probably never see again. He was fascinated by a five minute introduction from me to the graphene story and to Versarien's future role in the UK economy.I would like to enthuse him with a desire to invest in VRS.

Has anyone the best suggestion of how most easily to capture his attention with a single e-mail and several links. He would not initially have the motivation to trawl through and filter out the key excitements from several thousand posts on this board. The only presentation on the company's web site is IMO not fit for that purpose nor would the last prelim report be.

The three Stockepedia links in this B?B header do I think beg the question and only appeal to someone already enthused Pending the appearance of an updated and more comprehensive and suitable presentation than the current one on the home page, the best I have found are

and
hxxp://www.versarien.com/about-us/

has anyone a better suggestion? The AGM feed-back has been brilliant, but has again been for existing enthusiasts and needs collation and heavy editing for which perhaps the PR/IR depts are best placed

I suppose , as you suggested lovat, it is entirely up to VRS as this is one of the rare occasions that all of the information is in their hands.

Some months back Neill did meet with the head of AIM, so maybe , just maybe the regulators can be delivered irrefutable evidence and not to act would be a questionable situation.

Sorry sonny, really wasn't meaning to 'chastise'! Horrified it came across like that. Will work on my phrasing... I was actually trying to reassure you that in my opinion, things are actually looking very sound so the share price is likely to reflect that.
