Not a rival at all they are offering expertise/advice re on graphene use in rubbers etc for end users.

As I said, Aravind is close to VRS.

So Grafine Lt possibly a useful agent for VRS, rather than any sort of rival?

paleface - perhaps it's the same reason why Ocado and Blue Prism are valued in the billions but don't yet make any money. :0)

paleface,

From the annual report: Cash at 31 March 2018 of £2.3 million (2017: £1.4 million)

Surely the simple question is...if you don't know what year it is, you shouldn't be investing?

Aravind is well connected to VRS and has been for some time. You will see him in a presentation video VRS did some years ago.

The retrace will continue today with a bigger fall than yesterday. The Twitter hype effect has evaporated.

Bootie - agreed. We need to accept that we get much more information than we have a right to expect, therefore we need to be patient.

Some companies only give any idea of progress at interims and final results.

ChimpAndy1 this new company doesn't look like a true spin off to me. It seems to be setting itself up as a consultancy with just a few knowledgeable people. Links to MU seem to be just the address everything else a bit spurious.

Feedback from those that attended the golf day is we need to manage our expectations on RNS announcements. The last RNS collab announcement was only 3 weeks ago

The current rise could be just down to the imminent AGM in anticipation of positive results and news. Everyone wants to be on board just in case. If so I would expect the share price will hold around this mark and if there are not enough material positives announced it will fall back to last resistance point somewhere between 160 and 175 before resuming the more steady climb. If there are remarkable positives if course then........ Sky Rockets? ;) I hold and have done since 2015

It could track sideways bootie, the 20 day sma needs to catch up with the price and the share price needs to cool down a little and consolidate. Did expect a backtest of 1.60 which hasn't happened so may need to do that before having another attempt at breaking through 1.80 and maintaining it.

Note the 'may'

I see Manchester uni has a new graphene spin off company called grafine Ltd. After viewing their website it seems they don't produce their own graphene but act as a middle man (or woman). They help with creating the right compounds with the right ratios etc. And help their clients find a reliable graphene supplier. "grafine will support in the identification and establishment of a graphene material supply partner." (Quote found on their "how we work" page) It would be interesting to know the relationship between Grafine and VRS. https://www.gra-fine.com

If you dont understand the most important factor in determining a unicorn stock share price is its potential then you are lost. They have enough cash to run the business and will be making a profit by the end of the financial year. What would be the point of raising cash if currently unneeded?

Can anyone explain how the company has around £1.4m cash and is valued at £275m ?
still waiting on an answer

this is a simple question you need to ask yourself, before you make your investment
if you cannot answer this you should not be investing

it is the first fundamental to be considered when making an investment, the numbers have to compute

why can no one answer this simple question?

bootie,

Not just the wicks - today's opening price 186 was higher than yesterday's closing price - you have it the other way around. And that is just looking at the last 2 candles - i've not checked the rest....
