Not Really coz it opened at -4.9% and had a 7%+ spread. Plus your stamp duty and fees would mean you would have needed to be super lucky to have made anything

I suspect that some of the 'underwhelmed' comments that were posted here shortly after results came out were based on reading DAFAD's quick post 21698 at 7:01am which was a truncated version that excluded many of the positives detailed in the full announcement. The results report when read in full is far from underwhelming - it is very encouraging. ;-)

With the significant upscale in production capacity, I wonder if Neill now sees VRS as being AT the start line (the race to which, he has alluded to numerous times). Maybe one to ask Neill on the podcast later if someone could tweet it to sharepickers.

If they are able to produce 3T sure we are just waiting for the starting gun!

Great results, great day. I see today's results as the first step for VRS to step into the mainstream regarding the financial commentators to see the progress and details of collaborations in one place and encourage them to actually earn their dosh by highlighting to their many followers the prospects of such a great British company. New researchers should with a little bit of reading appreciate the appearance and significance of the increase to almost 3 tonnes of capacity. Well done all researchers and LTHs. This is the start of the move towards mainstream investmentment. Should end blue today.

For me, by far the most reassuring part of today's RNS is -

"Continued investment in graphene manufacturing capability to support collaborative application agreements and increase maximum capacity to almost 3 tonnes."

I don't agree that the buyers today will be in safe hands.those that bought when I couldn't will be sat on a quick 12% profit.too tempting for some

Thanks (again) sg1. Acknowledging (now) that it is independent testing - I still would have liked some small mention of the tyre testing (of the 500g of Nanene supplied through OQEMA). Wonder what demand / enquiries OQEMA are experiencing for Nanene.

O/T collaterol: rtj: I used evidence from spread bet accounts with a value of £980k to get a large mortgage on a penthouse at Port Solent (£750k) in 2003.

Sadly I ended up not purchasing (and losing £15k deposit) as the sb A/c dropped dramatically as a result of naked shorting).

But they were happy to offer me the mortgage when I wanted it.

Good luck.

My pleasant surprise is to see a 52% revenue increase with mostly small supplied samples for testing and assessing the material.
If one extrapolates to the kilos, the tons and China/India etc after everything is running full gear, one can easily see the actual valuation is nothing.
For VRS the valuation is materially real not based on hopes.
As a comparison, a similar stock , where the software impact on enterprises is real is Blue Prism (PRSM). I believe VRS share price will follow the same trend in the next few years.

Aw I understand it the tyre company wanted to crack on with tests. Collaborations can take months to sign off due to legal teams.

We know VRS have had very good results in tests with rubber as per the Podcast and Andrew D's presentation indicating 50% to 100% improvements in strength.

NR said said it also improved the manufacturing process, which may mean big gains for tyre producers.

Results were a mystery to me until I saw them at which point it dawned that they were exactly in line with all the RNS's the company has issued meaning there is no froth and bubble. This is the real deal.

I added again this morning.

The great thing here is that, despite VRS being on the edge of a something really big, they are staying prudent...e.g. charging for samples and protecting the IP.

Many other organisations would have got carried away and would have either (i) overspent or (ii) given away the IP.

Great stuff and congrats to all holders

re your post

I wonder what share price reaction would have been if the company had released an RNS this morning to advise that it was gearing up for 3 tonnes of nanene production and had now identified 24 potential Chinese partners...strange old world :-#)

Great point. As I said I wasn't bothered by what the results said and forecast a 35-50% increase in revenue.

The 3 tonnes has me wondering WTF has triggered that.

A few thoughts on that (theory). Someone wants plenty but before they sign up they want to know that VRS can deliver, a point in a deal that will seal the deal.

So on that basis I wouldn't be surprised if there is a decent order to arrive soon.

It take 12 weeks to get kit and we were at 250kg, why 3 tonnes? Sales are low, why does it need to go form 250kg to 12 fold.

There will be a very good reason.

RE the European Tyre Manufacturer announcement of 26th March 2018
A couple of extracts from the RNS on the day.

1. it was announced:- "Versarien PLC Graphene Supply to Major Tyre Producer"
NOTE supply Graphene, NOT as a Collaboration.

2. an extract from the RNS
"Graphene Supply to Major Tyre Producer

Versarien plc (AIM: VRS), the advanced materials engineering group, is pleased to announce that it has secured a purchase order for the Company's proprietary Nanene few layer graphene nano-platelets from a leading tyre producer, based in Europe. This relationship has been cultivated via OQEMA plc, formerly Lansdowne Chemicals Limited, with whom the Company has a distribution agreement, as announced on 16 February 2017.

Versarien will initially be providing 500g of Nanene for testing purposes, to explore the benefits of adding graphene to tyres supplied to the automotive sector. If successful, further orders would be expected."

'Just tell the Chinese if they want graphene in their products they need to move production to the UK.'

They won't be their products then will they?

Franly I think AAC Croma is a great opportunity to start some proper manufacturing in the UK for long-life plastics that won't destroy the planet. But that'd be capital-intensive and I'd expect UK plc to stump up the cash.

Been thinking about where in Manchester there is actually space for large-scale graphene/ plastics / composites manufacture, as I'm thinking of buying another house here, BTL. Anyone had any success using their ISA as collaterol for a house purchase? My actual income is well below £25k unfortunately!

That status review of collaborations/agreements includes the following observations on five of them which certainly bode well for newsflow this summer and autumn - with the possibility of positive outcomes making it into the half-year to 30 September, and post HY updates within the HY Report when it comes:

... results expected in the next two months

..... a second round of results expected in the next two months

..... Results expected shortly.

... Initial results are expected shortly

... test results expected shortly.

Why no update on tyre (continental) collaboration?

It's not a collaboration Continental have gone straight to tests, it was purchase, a collaboration will follow on imo.

Super - just speculation but perhaps it's for arrow green?

Arrowgreen are ink related not Nanene.
