04/7/2018 08:06 | I predict over 150p today - lets see what happens! I'm sure the country will be just as proud of Versarien as they are the football team in time. | ![]() a_game

04/7/2018 08:02 | Rock What pillock thinks graphene is a substitute for steel (in those terms)? As pointed out, as an additive to other products it makes them strong enough to replace some products where metals are used. EG Carbon fibre replaces metals but with Nanene CF is 50% stronger. The same goes for PAEK/PEEK it adds strength to that too. As for steel it is being tested in coatings to inhibit rust. There have been enough hints dropped about that over time. There is talk of all composite aircraft and indeed some like the Airbus helicopter already exist. It's all about light-weighting. | ![]() superg1

04/7/2018 07:56 | from another bulletin board posted in response to someone critical of vrs and doubting usefulness of graphene: Juzzle - 03 Jul 2018 20:24 - 1291 of 1294 edit this post iturama - I didn't say I regard graphene as a substitute for steel - I regard it as part of a whole new raft of materials and additives that will become as ubiquitous as steel. As for likely applications, they are myriad. (And I do mean likely - not merely possible) . In composites used for interior and exterior structures in planes, trains, boats, cars & trucks, in the tyres and brakes and batteries on all those, in concrete, in paints and coatings, in ceramics, in a whole gamut of medical materials, treatments and instruments, in electronics, in shoes, clothing and upholstery, in printing, in packaging and food preservation, in desalination, in chemical/gas filtration. Meet me here in 20 years and tell me which of those didn't happen ;-) 2-D materials are kicking off an industrial revolution, which I think will be as profound as the last one. In my considered opinion Versarien has positioned itself well and will do very nicely, even when the giant corporations catch up with what's happening (they will of course do so). If you can identify a stockmarket listed advanced materials competitor with equally good short term, medium term and longterm prospects, I would be interested to consider investing there too - but so far I've not found one (I have looked in detail at many - and my email in-tray has graphene stories arriving from all over the world several times an hour, day and night). | rockraven
04/7/2018 07:50 | CS, can I just say that I really do enjoy reading your posts nowadays. There is nothing wrong with discussing the huge potential ahead and the possible outcome for us as shareholders as long as the usual caveats are expressed, which you now do. All very exciting and gives me a reason to want to get up early in the mornings.... | ![]() woodpeckers
04/7/2018 07:41 | Super - quite agree that any one collab could transform VRS. The reason I focus on China right now is that it's a relatively quick way to hopefully significant revenues. I'd love to be proved wrong, but it seems likely that some of the collabs could take years to turn into orders - re-tooling of production lines etc. With the Chinese government telling companies to use graphene that process could be greatly accelerated. All just my (uninformed) opinion of course. | ![]() club sandwich
04/7/2018 07:28 | Ch1rp Yes that's why the last news was so interesting. WMG have seen good results in tests and now that large Chinese auto battery maker is testing it. So the result of that will be interesting. I haven't tried to find the tests results yet, they may be out there somewhere in a science paper. | ![]() superg1
04/7/2018 07:23 | FF It's probably not graphene Directa do a range of G+ which is mainly graphite, they haven't stated which product. It's been covered in detail before Multi-layer does work for things like thermal conductivity, elasticity and the like. In any case good to see as it shows interest. | ![]() superg1
04/7/2018 07:22 | If anyone can fast track anything ( batteries in cars for example) and sell it to the world, it's the Chinese:))) | ch1rp
04/7/2018 07:20 | poombear Some things it is being tested on would equate to 100's of tonnes if a big name went ahead with it in the product. So many go on about China when any one of the collaborations and testing with big names could transform VRS. I say testing as some big names are not in collaborations as yet but are doing their tests. So some news may just move to orders for names we haven't heard about yet. The `tyre company is an example, they have gone straight to testing and with the big gains they will see why wouldn't they want it. When they are obviously are looking for better performance and the electric car tyre wear issue. | ![]() superg1
04/7/2018 07:14 | Poombear I Wonder where they get their graphene from ? Very exciting rns in general even though not for Vrs It’s enforcing just 1 sector of graphene uses amongst the many sectors . Exciting times to say the least !! Ff | ![]() forestfred
04/7/2018 07:06 | Hopefully we will see some of our collaborations making orders like this soon. "Workwear represents a significant addressable market for the Company's G+ and in Italy alone there are approximately 250,000 law enforcement, fire and safety and military personnel whose clothing needs to be renewed every three years." Seems like an easy win to me, especially if the UK gov wanted to promote Graphene. | ![]() poombear
03/7/2018 23:09 | Hover - as I said, it might be quite delusional speculation. If you think it is, please feel free to ignore. I might be several miles off the mark. But one thing’s for sure: *something* is definitely brewing. You don’t get the top guy at the DIT being seconded, and coffee and chats at Number 10 without something going on in the background. If anyone else would care to speculate, I’m more than happy to read their theories ;-) | ![]() club sandwich
03/7/2018 22:56 | mikebrenner, On the drinks theme, Horlicks (another company started in the FOD) is up for sale for £3bn. If a bedtime drink can fetch that, VRS has the potential to be worth at least double. £42 per share...the answer to life, the universe and everything. Tick, tock... CS | ![]() cotswoldsparky

03/7/2018 22:02 | Opened a short at 60p, followed Yodhas advice and 'kept the faith' with his short. Eventually got closed out of his short by an inability to meet the increasing margin calls. What a wally! Cost him a small fortune. £1,000 a penny on the share price by his own admission. The wife is not happy. Good old Dreamy, always useful to have an absolute idiot to look at and think 'what a plonker'! | ![]() 1retirement
03/7/2018 21:46 | mikebrenner - you just made the same point I did, but better ;-) as an American senator once said: a billion here and a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking real money ;-) That 'arbitration hub' is intriguing, since it seems to specifically relate to the B&R program ($7trn, remember). IF it turned out that VRS *were* involved with that in any significant way, or even non-significant way, (and I know NR denied it, but that was 3+ months ago and things change - for example, 3 months ago they were talking to just one province) - if, for example, the Chinese want to build *all* the roads like that 1km test stretch, with transparent graphene-enhanced concrete over a photovoltaic layer - then all bets are off, and we could be at £20 the day the news is announced. Not a ramp, I'm not saying it WILL happen. Pure speculation, I quite accept, and perhaps a very long-shot, but I can dream, can't I? ;-) | ![]() club sandwich
03/7/2018 21:03 | Oh that's right you already got closed out of your short! I hope you realise that nobody is listening to a word you say...... you have already been identified as a failed shorter | chimpandy1
