No we do not CS & Yes just pure speculation - Doesnt seem unreasonable to me though - It may just be that we are in a monopolistic position just now - Certainly in the UK & quite possibly globally - Got to take advantage whilst we can - We seem to have a bit of time to make hay & the Sun is shining!!!

"So I look forward to the day it goes down the pan."

We need you, Super. Should we have an abandon ship plan? It's dead easy to set up a private forum, but maybe you'll have had enough? And broadband in Mustique is deadly.

super, of course it is. Have you ever wondered why you can't click 'Favourites' when you're actually on a BB page? So that you have to click 'Free BB' first, thereby giving them an extra page view every time. You multiply that by the number of posters on the busiest boards and that's a *lot* of extra page views...

adejuk - there's always the other place over the road, that advfn doesn't allow to be named ;-)

Not very sophisticated though, and they haven't upgraded it for years.

I use it purely as a (free) backup for my live pricing lists and charts, for those annoying occasions when advfn is offline.

tmoon - if new shares are issued at the prevailing share price and the money raised is required for investment to create growth then that is OK, but creating new shares, even at the prevailing share price when additional funds are not required, effectively dilutes any future share price growth. This is just basic maths.

Ultimately it will be supply and demand that determines the share price.

can anyone help
i've had it with advfn
they upgrade and it gets worse every time
for the last two weeks there are regular failures of streaming prices and links simply don't work
the customer service is appalling - they cut off the phone after about ten minutes
there has to be an alternative
if you hold stock in it, sell - this is heading for carey st.

Fest - all sorts of hedge funds, trading desks, market makers and others who follow volume and liquidity like to have hedged books overnight to minimise risk and margin. That’s why closing auctions nearly always have stupid prices until the last couple of seconds.

It doesn’t always work of course!
