09/3/2017 17:54 | From darkest mid France: Katie Potts still lead manager of Herald, and a very good one too. | ![]() shavian

09/3/2017 14:47 | Well Peelhunt haven't been on the offer all day. They had the opportunity to take it down to 16.75, and to take it to 16.5 but didn't do either. So either their client is finished or not willing to sell to the market below 17, I guess we will need to wait a little to see. Best wishes - Mike | ![]() spike_1
09/3/2017 13:47 | Herald have been around a long time and are a good outfit to have on board.Don't know if Katie Potts is still there, if so she seems to have been around forever!Herald are a supportive institution, this is excellent news. | ![]() the prophet

09/3/2017 10:37 | A thought about the graphene cost. If by adding graphene to carbon or plastic you can reduce the number of components in whatever you are making, eg using the improved thermal conductivity to reduce the amount of copper/ metal needed to conduct waste heat away . Then the market could sustain quite a reasonable price for the graphene. Especially if by the use of enhanced materials results in a reduction in the number of components used in making the product. Just my thoughts | ![]() 1madmarky
09/3/2017 07:44 | On the graphene topic there are many 1000's of potential uses and plenty of combinations. EG graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide, multi-layer which may be classed as graphite and isn't difficult to produce to the highly expensive single layer sheets which is years off. Then in kicks purit and degree of structure retained in the production process some of which are harsh. The initial VRS interest is the top end of the market. No one has cracked CVD single sheet commercially and costs effective. If they genuinely did the graphene world would pay serious attention. In the graphene world it's thought no one has cracked high purity few layer GNPs, high purity etc at commercial levels and cost effective. They have and you are looking right at it. I know the importance of that, some here also know that. Many graphene experts don't know VRS exist or their production method. Aspect two which seems to be stampeding in is the graphene ink. 100% conversion on the graphene, not few layer, commercial scale achieved and ready to go into standard printing presses. | ![]() superg1
09/3/2017 07:27 | From todays Ilika announcement:(AIM:IK Candidate materials will be made and tested using Ilika's unique high throughput platform. Promising materials will be further scaled-up by Toyota and its suppliers for deployment in its future low-emission vehicles. Makes you wonder if graphene is a part of this - just a thought | fatherjack2
09/3/2017 00:20 | Graphene printed solar panels.I posted about a week ago about a Chinese experiment screen printing a graphene-enhanced film on a solar panel which displayed unusual properties when rained on. It broke down the water droplets and produced electricity in the dark. Too tired to find the link. Zzzzzz | ![]() shavian
08/3/2017 22:08 | PEL "We also have a well-equipped ink development and evaluation facility within the University of Cambridge: for many years within the IfM and now at the Cambridge Graphene Centre." SO it seems PEL are with the ink side which if you look at their flyer adds some expertise options in any deal. I note they do a lot on silver ink which can be replaced with graphene ink | ![]() superg1
08/3/2017 21:57 | Back in sleuth mode The picture 1st March zoom in bottom left on the table to the black product. "Designed and manufactured by PEL" (PRINTED ELECTRONICS LIMITED) So imo it seems likely the ink side has a deal with PEL. EDIT Almost certain to be the case when you look at this page and photos Examples of printed graphene and the mention of Cambridge | ![]() superg1

08/3/2017 20:15 | Solar cells I didn't add it This page Note the various papers linked to T Hasan and Hybrid Nanomaterials Engineering. 100. Inkjet-printed graphene electrodes for dye-sensitized solar cells 91. CMOS integration of inkjet-printed graphene for humidity sensing The list is long and I have no time to look through them but it would seem the ink breakthrough includes: Graphene Molybdenum Disulfide Tungsten disulphide Molybdenum diselenide Bismuth telluride errm I'm busy so might look those up in 2023. Finding those bits of info gives me a headache just thinking about it. Clearly the ink business is potentially far more wide reaching than I can possible imagine. So what is going live and with what doing what. What is the capital spend on? | ![]() superg1
08/3/2017 20:08 | Not sure about thickening, but I am really chuffed to be meeting the Professor himself, along with Mark Shepherd and Neill Ricketts (note the correct spelling please!)shortly, with a full and apparently in depth visit at the centre. | ![]() hastings
08/3/2017 20:01 | Hmmmmm Graphene ink solar cells. Don't you just hate it when you miss something right under your nose. Over on LSE they listed the old graphene ink news. I saw Novalia on the printed sheet which was obvious but I hadn't really noted 'Hybrid Nanomaterials Engineering'. The same name crops up Tawfique Hasan who is part of the graphene ink side. The VRS news talked of graphene ink and related materials and the Cambridge site talks of the process can be used with other materials. The link below is well worth reading and it becomes mind boggling re the possible uses for graphene ink. Then in that page there is a photo of a flexible printed circuit for PEL Printed electronics limited. Now spin right back the the original and they talk of licencing and commercialisation already in progress. Then on the Hastings article Cambridge ink going live. The plot thickens | ![]() superg1
08/3/2017 16:58 | I see Saudi are up and about buying tech, in the ARM holdings 25% grab. They also took 30% of the little company Dyesol (solar power) who VRS had been working with. Seeing the ARM news clicked with me re a twitter post in Feb "Suited and booted talking technology with Saudi" It seems that took place at the DTI. I'm not suggesting they are on the prowl but imo worth in general noting what type of companies the Saudis are going to go after. They have already started their post oil investment plan. Off to do some Saudi digging, I forgotten about that until the ARM news reminded me. | ![]() superg1 |
