Fair enough shield. I thought your post was a bit severe. We would all like more info. I am very positive as to the potential of the lightweight panels and short term this seems to be the business with the best chance of bringing in some cash. The superior performance characteristics should help offset issues from cheap Chinese pricing.Huge market out there for a company able to supply a superior performance solar panel. I also like the link with Paragraf though it as as yet unclear in which direction this might go. Market cap looks modest for what is on offer ....I mean have a look at the market value given to VRS.

Meijiman - clearly the market agrees with you. I just want to see some numbers. If you open a factory and announce some contracts I think you can expect to hear that the factory has actually produced something and that the contracts actually mean something.

Looks like some leaked news, price has risen on some pretty slim trading.

Shocking Business Update. They hired another sales person and provided a list of conversations that they are engaged in, so what? No mention of delivering on the supposed contracts that they previously announced.

The CEO's biog on the website states "Geoff has served over 30 years in the oil & gas and energy sectors."

"Serving" for 30 years is not a qualification to run a publicly owned business. This company needs someone with entrepreneurial experience.

Verditek Business Update

Verditek plc, (AIM:VDTK) the clean technology company is pleased to announce the appointment of Ravinder Shan as our Chief Sales and Communications officer. Ravinder joined Verditek as a consultant with over 25 years of experience with start-ups, including a decade in solar, having successfully completed projects in the UK, USA, EU and India. With Ravinder's appointment now as CSO Verditek has refocused our sales strategy to develop vertical commercial solutions for our key markets. The work done in 2019 with our sales team has identified many material applications for our lightweight low-profile solar panels to provide renewable energy where it was previously impossible.

We are currently engaged in trials to confirm performance of our integrated solutions and thereafter convert into sales. Our new opportunities and partnerships include,

· developing a solar-carport solution for a leading, multinational fast food retail chain (2019 global top 3 by brand value);

· trials of our modules are underway with one of the largest global equipment suppliers for remote and off-grid telecommunication towers;

· Page Hardy Harris are working with us and clients to offer our solar solution for industrial rooftops;

· a framework agreement with XNRGI, our next generation lithium metal battery partner, to develop our manufacturing capacity to deliver commercial packages in India;

· a distribution agreement with Softmetal to prove and sell PV transport solutions for perishable goods vehicles;

· working with a top-tier roofing tile firm to trial integrated solar tiles for housing projects; and

· a collaboration agreement in place with Careavan, the UK holiday home company, to showcase our products at 11 motorhome shows and sell our products into their refurbishment business.

Dr Geoff Nesbitt, CEO of Verditek, commented: "It has been many months of work to establish the right fit in relationships that will drive our partnerships forward for years to come, but I am happy with the progress we made on this front. 2020 will be a time to harvest the results of our collaborations."

About Verditek plc

AIM listed Verditek plc is a holding company with three businesses operating within the clean technology sector. The Company is focused on commercializing our lightweight low-profile solar panel business. With manufacturing based in Lainate Italy, we have developed renewable power solutions for our customers, that drive solar energy into applications previously impossible. The exceptional properties of our solar panels replace diesel fuel in business such as perishable goods transport, off-grid telecommunication towers, electric vehicle charging stations, residential and holiday home power solutions and solar roofing for light-weight industrial roofing.

In addition to our current PV panels in production, we have partnered with an outstanding leader in graphene technology, Paragraf, and have created the worlds' first Graphene Integrated Photo Voltaic cell. We are working together to engineer the technology for commercialization.

Verditek provides compelling commercial solutions that make our customers business sustainable.

Presumably Gavin Mayhew has better visibility here than the rest of us.

"Verditek's continued focus on production and commercialisation of the Graphene Integrated PV cell, through the second Joint Development Programme with Paragraf, is very exciting given its potential applications in consumer electronics, satellite and other markets. I am confident that Verditek is at an inflexion point in its lifecycle. We have created persuasive solutions to large, costly problems for clients in our 8 market segments by developing clever and affordable suites of products that integrate our lightweight solar panels. Looking forward, the conversion of the loan note at 8p was a very simple decision."

Good do with some news on sales and production progress here.

The factory "comprises an automated manufacturing line with a production capacity of 20 MW per annum"

In the placing RNS they say "The Company estimates that the current break-even sales target is 6-7 MW per annum."

The news on orders is good. Hopefully this is the last placing they need, but may need more cash as they ramp up production.

They have some good selling points imo. Can see why the orders are apparently flying in..

"Constructed for high efficiency and durability, Verditek Solar Italy's production line utilises nanowire technology to enhance electrical conductivity and safety. Thanks to their polymer construction, the PV panels are robust and semi-flexible but without the heavy aluminium frame and glass sheets required in conventional modules. The final product is approximately 3mm thick, easy to install, and weighs in around 2kg/m2 compared with 22-28 kg/m2 for conventional panels. Since we use the same high quality 160um monocrystalline cells employed in the very best PV modules, we deliver more watts per weight and can be applied easily to many surfaces without the need for bulky frames. Together, these properties open markets that otherwise cannot consider solar energy to address their power requirements"

Always good to wake up to a placing at a premium. Not bad imo,director buying in to the tune of 200k plenty of orders coming online, military interest for the panels and orders that take should take them to profitability.
Hoping for a bright future here.

"Geoff Nesbitt, CEO of Verditek plc, said, "We have made the key transformation from proving and certifying our technology to selling it and while it is still early in this process, the commercial advantages of our lightweight solar panels are compelling as they are 90% lighter they generate the same amount of energy as conventional PV. We are looking forward to using these new funds to further grow our order book."

Thaks for the link shieldbug. They appear to be on the way with this and as you say not essential to their lightweight panels just a big added bonus when it comes.

Paragraf have just raised £12.8m funding. "Focus now switches to delivering products with strategic volume device production partners, and commercialisation of the first device"

hxxp://parkwalkadvisors.com/2019/07/paragraf-investment-telegraph/

In any case the work with Paragraf is not essential to Verditek making light weight panels.

the question is: can paragraf produce the graphene by vapour deposition quickly cheaply and free from impurities? where others have failed to produce pure graphene.

An interesting article about some of the research on going in PV tech.Looks like the 25% stated by VDTK is reasonably competitive given the current theoretical limit being between 29-33%. But the limit can be pushed to 35-50% in the lab so may not hold for long. https://www.wired.com/story/new-designs-could-boost-solar-cells-beyond-their-limits/

You can buy flexible solar panels and have been able to for some time. Some flexible panels are just 2.5mm thick and very similar weight.I've taken a quick look at the spec of the panels being made in the refurbished factory in Milan they have (sorry dont know what that factory was knocking out prior). It doesn't look anything exciting are spectacularly efficient indeed they seem to deliberately avoid specifying the efficiency on the PDF but I have had a quick eyelash at the specified size and output voltage and current and its all fairly similar to other like flexible panels. Are the verditek panels a lot cheaper ? I am struggling to see what would actually make me choose them amongst the sea of competition out there.
