17/8/2018 14:42 | Hazl ignore APAD, an arrogant boring twerp who, as you say, thinks he is so more important and knows it all about every company without knowing anything. And all because he got lucky with an overvalued soft drink company. Most of his portfolio is going nowhere And half the time it is just that, LUCK Nobody has the skill to predict the future. | toptrump1

17/8/2018 13:40 | My Linkedin approach to researching FEVR in the US isn't yielding anything as yet. Loads of stuff that the algo thinks I should find interesting! I might have to register again with a meaningless job title and company title to confuse the algo. With my software background you'd think I could've predicted that! Doh. apad😡 | apad
17/8/2018 13:22 | I will add that APAD and various here have been warning Janeann about the dangers of PRSM from 400p upwards...it reached 2000 recently. Thank goodness she took no notice. I got in at just over a pound. That is not meant to be arrogant, because we all have winners and losers. When I first took an interest in the stock market I remember a poignant point from one of the books that I read, that said you cannot have all winners but it is enough to have one or two great companies that keep your portfolio afloat. I still have some PRSM today. | hazl
17/8/2018 13:13 | I would welcome that Melton John because you say you will go away and research. Those that come back after a few minutes cannot possibly be presenting an informed argument. Thank you some sense at last. | hazl
17/8/2018 13:01 | Red, better open a window after that lunch I think. :-) | melton john
17/8/2018 12:59 | Hazl, if someone says something negative I wonder if they are right and I'm wrong. I'll do some digging and find more evidence either way and express an opinion. That's what we're here for. I sometimes look at a company thread to see what the fuss is about and find a cheerleader and disciples all singing its praises and stopping any valid debate by burying negative opinion eg IQE. Toughen up and find a counter argument to criticism if there is one and don't take things personally. Good hunting. | melton john
17/8/2018 12:55 | PS Typing up my notes from Castings AGM has given me a hearty appetite. Kicking off with Broccoli, pea and spinach soup. thank goodness I had Artie Shaw and Jo Stafford to keep me company through the tedium:-) red | redartbmud
17/8/2018 12:51 | Check out Petro Matad - MATD ahead of results on its 6 well fully funded onshore drilling program targeting 2 billion barrels recoverable. | top tips
17/8/2018 12:47 | hazl A bit harsh? I don't participate in many of the shares that are discussed here, mainly because of time constraints that prevent me from carrying out due diligence. I get slower as I get older, and I need to reduce my number of holdings, as a priority so that I can track them properly. I welcome everyone's opinion. Different eyes see different things and I am very fallible. Off to fry my sardines for lunch. maybe oily fish will improve the old grey matter:-) red | redartbmud
17/8/2018 12:38 | I'm not sure about how one can have a turnover tax for part of a sector, Big7. However, don't underestimate .gov's skills in taxes. apad | apad
17/8/2018 12:30 | At present I could sell 99 of my 100 Rsw purchase this am and keep 1 share, and pocket 74p for my troubles. Think that I may hang on for 2 free additional shares. BOGOF red | redartbmud
17/8/2018 12:11 | Decided TXP story fully supported by the price - fat puppy. Will keep an eye on it. No worries Apad. Keeping an eye on it is a good thing to do. There may be a BTFD opportunity somewhere along the line. Similar to SDX in some respects I suppose but Trinidad and Tobago not similar at all to SDX's operations I would think. Much greener LOL! I think the interest in TXP is what will happen when their drilling campaign gets into full swing next year and what happens with the drill bit in their Ortoire acreage. Worth checking out their most recent presentation for more info while you keep an eye on things: I feel more comfortable holding TXP than AMER for sure. Just wish Big7ime would do some gardening that would move AMER in the right direction ;-) Next week please Big! | lauders
17/8/2018 11:31 | One for you APAD: hxxps://news.sky.com | big7ime
17/8/2018 11:30 | Ps, caused quite a stir Hazl, I wasn't going to mention until it got to a penny lol I reckon red made 70quid (see the 467k trade) selling after APAD's comment. ;) | big7ime
17/8/2018 11:23 | Good luck with it Big - I know you have some knowledge of the sector. Just not my bag. | hydrus
17/8/2018 11:22 | In from the garden for break, back breaking gardening I find. It must be a magic gdn as I didn't expect anything to move but always something goes berserk when I do. INFA is not one for widows and orphans but is typical of the sort to multi bag in short order . You know, the kind that go up 10x in a week and I got quite good at recognising them and used to throw a few grand at some but miss out on most as my head told me to stay away. The chart was good enough for me to make an initial investment without much research and then with some research I quite like the story so have upped my stake. I believe Malcy is meeting with them today so should get his report Monday. Not sure that will give any new insight but look fwd to reading it. Anyway, must get back to the gardening even just to boost my shares some more.. ;) | big7ime
17/8/2018 11:21 | ps I try to do so with reasons. | apad
17/8/2018 11:17 | hazl I don't criticise anything I haven't thought of - I criticise everything. Especially my own purchases. apad😊 | apad
17/8/2018 11:17 | Excuse my typo I meant 'a company you like' | hydrus |
