Don't know a lot about it but seen DUKE mentioned a bit further up. After hours fund raise to raise £44m at not too a significant discount.

Only part way through but an interesting report on brokers and platforms ( ) It's from Hardman presumably in anticipation of AJ Bell IPO later this year. Relevant to HL., IHP, forthcoming Nucleus IPO etc.

From what I have read, Trupanion does not have a cap on expenses, insurance premium does not go up with age, it covers hereditary diseases etc.. I don't have a pet so but lacking in experience .. Also, Trupanion suggests they are lowest cost operator .. They partner up with nurseries, install their software, and then 90% of the claim is directly paid to the vet.. Owner only pays 10% from pocket.. Also, there is no paper claims involved.. Most of it is online.. You need somewhat of a scale to gather enough data to write profitable premiums..

I gave up with pet insurance - just put the money aside and invest it - so many terms and conditions it's ridiculous - oh your dog is over 7 years old so we can't pay all of it etc etc etc License to print money though if people keep paying

TSTL bounce back at 09:30 - even I can predict it!

Can't be much of a moat in pet insurance, perhaps?

Still interested in DUKE as a new puppy.

Ferocious interest in OPTI puts me off - it 'aint gonna be short of publicity ever, though.

I have seen mixed reviews online .. Trustpilot has good ones .. Suggest reading their 2014 shareholders letter.. Since they don't capitalise customer acquisition costs, they will appear loss making for a long time.. However, they do talk about intrinsic value of their business.. I'll dig how they calculate that ... CEO seems to understand capital allocation and investing fo long term ..

Attrader - I think I researched that company some time ago but was put off a bit by online reviews plus of course expensive stock. Be interested in your views. BUR breaking out

Reading about Trupanion - Pet insurance business with decent runway for growth. Not sure how to value it though as they are reinvesting all of their cashflow in expanding .. I like the unit economics .. costs 118 to acquire a new customer .. Generates 48% IRR overall life of the contract ..

I should think the likes of T.Winnifreth are much worse Hydrus going by such picks as FLX and BST which I thought were crazy

Prediction
😊

TSTL will bottom between 09:30 and 10:30, then rise over the rest of the day dropping back a much smaller amount at the end of the day on profit taking.

It will be similar to ABC's performance yesterday.

Pretty sure SCSW sold ZOO at 52p. Worth noting amid their recent poor performance.

Thanks, I see Investor's Chronicle tips of the year are overall DOWN 0.3% YTD. When do they admit they have absolutely no idea what they are doing and just stop publishing?

No problem Lauders happy to have helped. I've done ok with it myself after all ;)With an 11.3p average (lowest was just over 9p) I'm now up 14 fold in just over a year. Put in a good chunk also at that price so it's been completely transformational for me as you can imagine.

Panic, you missed the dialogue with janeann where I came within an ace of buying Lo-Q and then nearly bought ACSO but was put off by the last acquisition. The space ship has left the orbital vehicle now.

I'm liking puppies Lauders - it's boring waiting for news from the likes of HLMA.

I am surprised Apad dabbled in AMER PI! There again he has patience and it is only a "puppy". Very happy I bought ZOO after ditching FFWD and then topping up at 107p or so. Has to be a dip soon but can't time trades and sell now and buy lower so will have to follow the Apad approach and HOLD no matter what, until the story changes. Thanks for highlighting ZOO many months ago Hydrus. Truly appreciated.
