Has anyone looked into Avast ? New IPO offering security scanning software ..

Yup magic formula came from Greenblatt. It is supposed to pick quality companies with high Free cash flow yield.. Looking at the list below, It does not produce quality names though ... I like Apads Cashflow/employee calculation.. more likely to find companies like Auto Trader, Bioventix, Fevertree ... I'll be adjusting my filter to exclude cyclical businesses from the filter .. idea is to reduce effort keeping an eye on the market and find quality businesses when they run into temporary issues

attrader, spectra systems is in your FCF list twice while the magic formula list appears to be unsorted. Perhaps its me but what is the magic formula? Greenblatt?

Good work on ARC Jane and others. I never pulled the trigger as felt growth might be a bit slow but it's hardly expensive and seems to be doing fine. ZOO taking off again some big buys going through.

Regarding FEVR I have a very good friend who was high up with S/Miller - they've just bought some circa £30 as they know Domenic very well and as they put it "why is he joining a dinky company like that when he just walked away with 30m"

If I was in your pal's position, red, I'd go for ITs invested in the US/Japan as an antidote to a pension in pounds.
FWIW

Stairway breached the +20% YTD today.
If I'm not careful, I'll decide its due to my skills - then the gods will destroy me!
FEVR and RSW doing the hard labour.

janeann still a stellar +36% in the Comparison - a small figure in the distance.
I do like entries that are all blue, or green, or whatever, as long as they are not red.

I am a stock picker myself, but my friend is not that familiar with markets.
As he is retired a fund may suit him best, certainly better than a rolling pin across the head, form his wife, if he lost on the deal:-)

Might be worth asking him for more info. While trying to find the most consistent scan filters he also thinks that a basket of the best smaller company funds performs pretty well.

on BVXP, investee company and secretoneurin partner, Cardinor finally has a website up and running at cardinor.com. I didn't find anything new. An affiliated researcher will be presenting at ESC conference in Munich in August on "Low concentrations of circulating secretoneurin predict a favorable prognosis after cardiac surgery".

Ask your friend to watch the fundsmith agms all on youtube. Then he make his own mind up.
I now have fundsmith, lindsell train global equity, lindsell train japanese fund and the buffettology one mentioned earlier. I have been happy so far.
What will the pound do now is my question. Does it have a hard brexit priced in. Hard to know.
