12/7/2018 12:37 | Then again there's only so many you can hold I suppose | panic investor
12/7/2018 12:37 | Apad, somewhat surprised you don't hold ACSO or NMC for that matter | panic investor
12/7/2018 11:28 | APAD, wise words about not punishing winners. The ZOO rise seems relentless and I'm obviously now regretting having sold some! Bought some more back just over 100p and have a very decent holding size but... | homebrewruss

12/7/2018 10:27 | Your ARC was up about 50% last year,j. That holding now up about 150%. Don't punish winners - I think I'll get a tattoo. apad😎 | apad

12/7/2018 09:31 | ....and apad's daughter. apad himself took profits! Idiot. ABC could be heading for a BTFD opportunity between now and the Sept. results. Fairly typical pattern. I am looking for their current capital spend on software and offices to die down. ASOS slipped - so very big now. I suspect the weather will act in BOO's skimpy frocks favour. | apad
12/7/2018 09:19 | Certainly am multi. gone beyond current expectations. Tempted to topslice. But then 'run ones winners and punish loosers# says apad. What to do with THAL is my problem? still have a large holding ad somewhat underwater. Hit by oil price collapse back in 2015. should have sold immediately. Didn't! | janeann
12/7/2018 09:04 | ARC powering ahead - has added about 34.5p to share price since trading update two days ago. Now 112p on bid - surely can't go on at this rate and a retrace due ? Janeann, Cbootle and I - mega delighted I would expect :) | multibagger
12/7/2018 08:48 | 😊 ABC growing above market rate and custom products growing very well. Typically pragmatic language. OPTI large director purchase. apad | apad

11/7/2018 22:08 | It just grew that way, j, when I decided that top-slicing was punishing success. I wouldn't describe my feeling as confidence though. When it goes wrong (FARN) it is shocking. I am not dependent on my portfolio for a living - makes a difference. Couldn't agree more about dross - punish failure. apad😎 | apad
11/7/2018 20:58 | That's a pretty focussed pf apad. Im about 68% in 9 shares including about 8% cash. Largest acso a mere 13%! Perhaps time builds confidence al;though it helps with the massive rise in a stock like fevr. The message I get from that is I downsize too much (and certainly far too much with prsm)! (and too much dross that I should get rid of!) thanks | janeann
11/7/2018 20:54 | "Anderson didn’t comment on Musk specifically or elaborate on Tesla’s issues while speaking from Allen & Co.’s Sun Valley conference. The electric-car maker’s chief executive officer has made headlines by attacking journalists and Wall Street analysts in recent months as the company has struggled to ramp up production of its Model 3 sedan and stem losses. Baillie Gifford owned 12.8 million shares as of the end of March, a stake that’s worth more than $4 billion at current prices. Only Musk, T. Rowe Price and Fidelity owner FMR LLC have a bigger position, according to data compiled by Bloomberg." 12.8 million shares in an article of faith! Odds Bodikins. apad😎 | apad

11/7/2018 15:42 | Thanks chootle, insightful overview of Avast prospects | attrader
11/7/2018 15:31 | well I have been pretty impressed at the recent rise in acso but I watch in sheer amazement at the ever rising fevr - as it breaks into new ground again and again - and what is it - just another mixer I thought! Well done for continuing to hold apad; | janeann
11/7/2018 12:45 | Can't see any expansion for Avast. They were and are one of the biggest providers of free anti-virus (relying on "upgrades"). Some 10 - 15 years ago the two biggies in this field were Avast! and AVG, with AVG being the better known at least in the UK. But that's a shrinking market as fewer and fewer people use laptops for home use. Corporations use enterprise quality anti-virus (e.g. Symnantec), and there would be a high barrier to entry for Avast. Avast bought AVG in 2016. My gut feeling (and it's only a gut feeling) is that their current business model is no longer working so they are looking to raise money as an act of desperation (having spent loads on buying out their biggest competitor). A recent round up review of anti-virus: hxxps://www.techrada In short, why do they need the money and why did they not have an IPO in the good days when they were riding high? IMO avoid, but gamblers might like to place a punt on an initial rise (and fall) due to brand awareness giving some excitement. | cbootle
11/7/2018 12:06 | Has anyone looked into Avast ? New IPO offering security scanning software .. | attrader |
