Good interims from CAKE, 13% increase in eps, new profitable store openings with payback of less than 24 months, the partnership with Sainsburys is developing, no bleating about the impact of the beast from the east etc - a quality business.

Yes, but if you have an issue that is off script they are clueless and customer service is poor.
One phonecall to the Co secs office solved my problem with access to Spirax AGM. Despite saying that it couldn't be done by HL. Their couldn't be done meant that they didn't bother to contact the Co secs office. Simples - do nothing to help the client!!

Hydrus .. unduly harsh on SYM's statement, I feel.

Couple of very interesting snippets in there if you re-read. The company is evolving rapidly now

Yes Hargreaves Lansdown, well numbers may drive it but I believe, as a fintech, they are doing it more efficiently than their competition, and have ambitious plans. They floated at 160p in May 2007, so not a bad return to-date.

I reckon that's about right, gsb...
The dividend makes the waiting a lot more palatable.
It's my fourth largest holding and pays out three times anything else!

As in Hargreaves Lansdown?
Just a numbers play - volume, volume and more volume.

Another solid performance from HL. Maintaining last night's closing PE, based on forecast EPS numbers (2018: 50.13p & 2019 56.97p) would see the share price at 2115p this year & 2404p next year. Suspect that this does not fully reflect the fruits of a number of initiatives they are working on.

Similar comment from VCT, red - winds change.

Thanks for the quote, gsb... I doubt whether I would have got through the article.
The Feb/March dip look to have been good buying opportunities - still only 5% up on the year.
FY mid Oct. Drift sideways unless there is an rns?

G4M final results out, as predicted, investing in future so profits down, but overall healthy. Will reenter. Looks like opening strong.

Bough a few GAN before the bell today.
The US supreme court have just today opened up the barriers to state sports gambling and GAN are well placed to benefit:

Not had time to write up notes on Rsw Investor day.
Up to my neck in alligators.

Argument with H-L
Slipped my mind to apply to go to Spirax AGM. Contacted H-L to get late clearance. Rang the first thing this AM.
Reply "Corporate Actions Dept unable to get approval"
Rang Spx Co Secs office.
Reply "No approach from H-L, but delighted to see you, as a Guest, in the circumstances. Do you have the time of meeting and directions?"

H-L cannot do anything that isn't in a straightforward box, and their prices quoted aren't always the best, by a good margin. Looking to move my accounts!!

City Pub Group now 213p - dropped below the 170p floating price briefly - came close, but I was too glamoured by FARN.

SYM price bound to benefit from all the .gov virtue pedalling on plastics.
Looks like a fairy story to me, but they may own technology that'll beat the multinationals. At least they have some revenue.

Jane I have recently taken a position in BIOM which has a bio plastics division. I have some doubts about management but I've held my nose as they are growing strongly and the market cap is tiny. Re SYM I have looked at it a few times but couldn't bite the bullet. £50m Mcap and it's not like their revenue is exploding. Don't like the self publicity RNS's either. Still it might be a success but can't pick them all.

sym - surprised at the strength given the collective wisdom of this thread (matjos excluded) weren't impressed a little while back. Perhaps being at the right time and place for a co is a bigger driver than fundamentals. still watching with increasing depression.

Interesting BOD appointment on TET today with this at the end of the RNS - very much under the radar for its whole life !We are very pleased that Michael is joining the Board. Michael is a highly respected and skilled lawyer. His in-depth experience of mergers and acquisitions and foreign investments are very relevant as the business continues to expand. We look forward to his contribution to the further development of Total Produce plc."

A little surprised by the dip in VCT shares after the interims.
Already gone up over April I suppose.
CEO 6 months in the job - I must check his background.
