06/12/2017 16:09 | Hydrus Oops, I feel for you. I never get timing right, so you are not alone. Sold Dlar trading stock at £6.4902 and It went to £6.565 within the hour ;-( red | redartbmud
06/12/2017 15:23 | Hmm my initial CVSG stake was not timed well. It's a penalty fee for taking a starter stake before researching properly. I'll ponder tonight. | hydrus
06/12/2017 13:22 | Camellia Plc (CAM) Trading update "profit before tax for continuing operations (before any impairment charges) for the year to 31 December 2017 is expected to be ahead of analyst expectations" | piedro
06/12/2017 11:52 | Yup. It's also a non-cyclical industry, which makes it easier to classify, hpcg. Any other suggestions? Despite the current downward pressure on high growth stocks, BOO is not falling. Good sign. Looks a bit like my view about FEVR in yoodle land has caught on. apad | apad
06/12/2017 11:26 | Apad - I would have said IGG is an archetypal stalwart stock. It is mature, market leader, good cash converter, in a business which isn't going away any time soon, and makes its money which ever way the market blows. Good dividend and on the good side of fair value. I was delighted to see it has cut advertising costs. My personal perception of advertising is an infinitesimal amount is useful, and that almost all companies could usefully spend less on it. Not so much growth, but I think it has the potential to grow its share of conventional stockbroking business, especially as the banks are increasingly hopeless / vacating the space. | hpcg
06/12/2017 10:05 | Thanks Apad for taking time to respond. I keep an eye on this thread and good to know people responding. I hope to contribute too when time comes. | ashehzi
06/12/2017 09:32 | IMMUPHARMA (IMM) Small cap stock ImmuPharma finish Phase 3 for their potential blockbuster lupus drug Lupuzor in Q1 2018. Based on the Phase 2b data and ongoing good safety in Phase 3, Lupuzor should easily beat the only competition GSK's lupus drug Benlysta, which has poor efficacy and adverse side effects. Lupuzor is expected to achieve multi-billion dollar sales in lupus and could treat several other high value indications, adding to the value. IMM currently 130p, estimated value £80+ Tim McCarthy (IMM Chairman) Presentation, 14/3/2017: "There's going to be a fantastic return on investment for anybody who invests in ImmuPharma...This (Lupuzor) is going to be a multi-billion dollar drug, its as simple as that...This will absolutely be a multi-billion dollar drug." 4 min 40 sec. Resetting the Autoreactive Immune System with a Therapeutic Peptide in Lupus Prof. Sylvian Muller Lupus (2015) 24, pg 412–418 "The phase IIb trial showed that after three months of therapy (three subcutaneous injections of 200 ug peptide/patient in addition to standard of care), Lupuzor improved Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Disease Activity Index score of lupus patients under active treatment by 67.6% versus 41.5% in the placebo group (p<0.025). After three additional months of follow-up, the improvement rate was 84.2% versus 45.8% (p<0.025). The side effect profile was unproblematic and the drug was well tolerated as evidenced by a very low drop-out rate." www.lupuzor.com/Docu | top tips
06/12/2017 09:14 | Isn't that the big battery (that is said not to degrade or be a conventional 'battery') company, ashehzi? Installed in containers in the scottish islands and anywhere there is a subsidy? You should ignore what follows regardless of whether I am remembering correctly or not (sorry if I am confused - it often happens). I don't invest in anything 'green' that depends on subsidies, especially when new technology is involved. If I have remembered correctly I looked at it and classified it as a bargepole stock. 06/12/2017 09:04 | Prospex Oil and Gas Positive log results at Podere Maiar-1 well, Italy RNS Number : 4918Y Prospex Oil and Gas PLC 06 December 2017 Prospex Oil and Gas Plc / Index: AIM / Epic: PXOG / Sector: Oil and Gas 6 December 2017 Prospex Oil and Gas Plc ('Prospex' or the 'Company') Positive log results at Podere Maiar-1 well, onshore Italy Prospex Oil and Gas Plc, the AIM quoted investment company, is pleased to announce it has been advised by the operator, Po Valley Energy ("PVE"), that positive log results indicate the presence of a gas bearing reservoir at the Podere Maiar-1d appraisal/redevelopm Downhole log results received from Schlumberger confirm a gross gas pay of 53m. The top of the reservoir was encountered at 1,245m TVD (1,223m TVDSS) some 12m above the level of previous production wells, including the nearby Selva 6 well. The two main sand levels show high resistivity on the logs, indicating the presence of gas. PVE and the joint venture partners, including Prospex, have agreed to proceed to case, perforate and complete Podere Maiar. In addition, downhole production equipment will be installed. Well completion is targeted to be finished mid-December with flow testing on a rig-less basis planned for early January. Prospex has a 17% working interest in Podere Maiar, which is located in a proven hydrocarbon province where over 5,000 wells have been drilled historically. Podere Maiar-1 was drilled into the Selva Gas-Field (previously operated by ENI), which historically produced 83Bcf between 1960 and 1984. Prospex non-executive Chairman, Bill Smith, said, "The log results for the Podere Maiar are highly encouraging. With completion of the Well and the commencement of flow testing operations due to take place shortly, I look forward to providing further updates from the Podere Gallina Exploration Permit in the next few weeks, as we look to build on our recent drilling success at the Bainet-1 gas discovery in Romania." Carlos Venturini, Fellow of the Geological Society of London, Exploration Manager has reviewed and approved the technical information contained within this press release in his capacity as a qualified person, as required under the AIM Rules. | whites123
06/12/2017 09:02 | Hi all, Do you have any views on RED (Redt Energy)? I am thinking to add it to my portfolio but still in early phase of understanding... Sorry if it has been discussed here before. | ashehzi
06/12/2017 08:51 | Even my knees are creaking this morning, but then again, they still creak when the market is rising. Seriously, those excitable yoodles seem to have unsettled world markets for now. Are fund managers restructuring portfolios for year end bonuses and 2018? Rws - good news, bad day :-( Hey ho.... red | redartbmud
06/12/2017 08:46 | Surprised RWS not showing some strength, red. Still, maybe not dropping is good enough. EAH - don't like results headlining EBITDA, but a quick glance looks OK. Must have a closer look, Hydrus. Stairway is creaking this morning :-( apad | apad
06/12/2017 08:17 | EAH results are decent enough if not explosive. I've sold a portion as bought some lower on the recent dip. | hydrus
06/12/2017 08:15 | APAD Yes RWS looking good. Additions are performing and the business is growing organically. I need to look at cashflow/debt going forward. Overall the market is out of sorts for now. red | redartbmud
06/12/2017 08:07 | TCN is an impressive little survivor (lost big RR contract back in the day). Unfortunately it makes its living by bending pipes all over the world - not a huge margin business. RWS results on absorbing LUZ look very good (as expected/hoped). Latest acquisition now on its plate (Desperate Dan's cow pie). You'll do well today, red. Looks like I am going to have to be patient about FEVR in yoodleland. I suppose we're still in brexit limbo for a while - going to spoil the Xmas rally. In the meantime the yoodles have lit their afterburners In the meantime I am waiting to deploy ABC's income next week. Quite a bit of weakness makes me feel like the Cat in Red Dwarf. That's mine, that's mine, that's mine.... Good BTFD in ZOO by the look of it, dacian. I do like researchers such as Mr. T, dacian, but the sanity cost of checking out popular, single company boards is too high - one liners and uber fans! Caroline should have a scottish name, janeann. I don't think it'll have much effect by the time it reaches the Solent. I'm fed up with bloody Condor, though. It's the local monopoly we all despise. I understand your position on PRSM - my problem is that I have had a faith lobotomy. apad | apad
05/12/2017 21:54 | From Florida: "Oh, having a gin and fever tree tonic - you have a lot to answer for!! Oh, flew out Virgin and their free Gin and Tonics, happen to be Bombay Gin and FEVER tree, put some in my bag to keep me going! We can get fever tree at Walmart here but VERY expensive about £2.15 for a small bottle - still needs must and I am helping you get richer, so that's some consolation!! (Publix, very local supermarket only do the ginger beer at the moment?)" apad | apad
05/12/2017 20:56 | @apad, Then AI is all algos. What's new? No doubt prsm is also bpl/workflow or whatever you call it. | ashehzi
05/12/2017 20:51 | Picking the wrong few days for a visit here - although the south gets it easy and might escape caroline! enjoy the solent! Cant say I understand what /how prsm do it. But the principle of automating routine tasks that occupy time of large number of workers has to be a logical next step. and if they are leaders in the field - then as a minimum they are worth investigating further. Fever - accept its more than a few new mixers now; bu timing was excellent with the gin frenzy starting; and I thought the latest US update was very positive. | janeann
05/12/2017 19:38 | janeann - I find the open debate here, and the sharing ideas with other investors very valuable - unlike reading most professional commentators. I also like writing down my own opinions to crystallise them and make them memorable. Poking away at the arguments around novel companies with a real business is where this is most informative. ......... Even if it ends with "FEVR is just a few new mixers" and "PRSM is just a few simple sub-routines." :-) PRSM's performance is amazing - irritates me to death that I don't understand it! Back on the boat to the UK tomorrow :-( apad | apad
05/12/2017 17:27 | apad - timing of entry to prsm - its the same with any stock and especially those that respond rapidly when they start to get noticed. Secret is to be convinced of the company very early on and have the conviction to buy a decent holding and stick with it. Easy to say and less easy to do. To me something novel and a company at the right place at the right time seems to be the key (e.g. prsm and acso). I suppose fevr is another good example although I found it difficult to be convinced - after all it was just a few new mixers wasn't it? ps; zoo - certainly interesting from the above viewpoijnt | janeann
05/12/2017 17:24 | attrader, I’ve no magic formula. In ZOO’s case I looked at other Netflix preferred vendors in the first instance and then found the ones focussed on subtitling and dubbing. | mr. t
05/12/2017 15:39 | Well CVSG has had a good bounce although it could just be a dead cat, that even their expert vets couldn't revive. Time will tell as always. | hydrus
05/12/2017 14:27 | Good comparison of competitors Mr T. May I ask how do you go about finding competitors of a company ? | attrader
05/12/2017 13:34 | Very helpful Mr T - glad to have highlighted ZOO to you | hydrus |
