Thelong - think I may have read it. There are not many investing books I haven't read tbh. Reminiscences of a stock broker is the most fun.

Dacian I own two US and Canadian small/medium sized companies. They sit in the quality/growth part of my portfolio (which is the main bit). I used exactly the same approach in researching stocks and selecting them as I do with UK stocks. Need to invest in software though - I use stockopedia and built my own filter based on the criteria I am interested in. Tend to then research the long list, produce a much small watch list and then mull them over, get to know them and then after a few months when opportunity arises (eg a dip) I might dip toe in with one or two ones I think are special. I'm very selective though. Also own AMZN which isn't really a small cap !

Thanks apad - I said something to that effect some months back; Right place at the right time and a step ahead of the game. Surprised it has gone quite so far but Old Mutual have a fair chunk which will have given support.

Thanks hydrus.
I've given it a try as for the price there isn't much to lose and based on their microcapclub posts I thought it was worth a shot. I also had their intelligent fanatics book on my wish list.

Also I think the price is due to go up in January so now is the time to subscribe.

Anyway NAI but it might be worth a look at this price.

Final post - it was microcap club not intelligent fanatics I was a member of and it cost hundreds of dollars not $29.99 so clearly different sites!

BTW this was a couple of years ago so imagine their site has developed. Overall still worth a shot probably homebrew but really think it's only worth it if you have lots of time to research the stock ideas discussed on there as inevitably most won't be to ones taste.

Home brew - have to be honest I do not find the books to be any good. I used to be a member of MicroCapClub a few years ago. I found one stock out of dozens I researched that I decided to invest in and that more than paid for subscription. However I have found much better ideas through my own filtering techniques and therefore let it lapse.Anyway others may find it useful but I found that Ian Cassel's free articles are the most interesting thing about it. He did point out 100 baggers by Chris Mayer to be fair which is my favourite investing book.

Dacian and others, the guys behind microcapclub currently have an offer on for their intelligent fanatics forum which includes their two books available for free. The free books are worth the price but I'm also attracted to some non uk stock ideas with brexit about to loom large..

It doesn't look like anything is scheduled for Monday, so any RNS would be abnormal.
Punchy PE? Hmmm....

MCGN someone bought 800k shares at £4.50 late pm on Friday - a mere 27p above the offer. Perhaps a BTFD and an RNS on Monday?

I have a problem with me top-slicing.
I don't have a problem with other folks top-slicing.

Loved that! Very good ;-)

Thank you for the FENR link Apad.

I am watching them carefully. Once I one bag them I may move on. Not far off that target now.

Edit - Knowing you follow return on capital I think these will interest you if not seen yet:

The problem I have with top slicing is (generally) I do it too early (after a decent rise) so I then buy back at a higher price and the price then falls back. (hence selling my additional prsm today) (and still holding some very expensive thal for the same reason)

ps the listening isn't the problem ; its the decision making/taking action thats the issue

janeann - yup, it's always a dilemma.
If it wasn't there'd be an answer :-)

I'm still a doubter about PRSM, but whatever you do, don't listen to me!
