05/9/2017 10:24 | ps Still gobsmacked at how a company can make money - GAW, mod. Well done indeed! | apad
05/9/2017 10:21 | TRAK will have news soon. Its capital raising in March at 65p a share was for running expense. Since then it has been up to 120p and is now at 85p. It has reported a string of contracts but nothing of financial significance. It could be buying customers on the cheap to build a base for future income. If so this could be extraordinarily risky. If they do not produce decent positive cash flow numbers soon the decline will continue and they will need to come to the market again. If this happens there may well be some contagion into QTX, where there might be a buying point somewhere in the 300 to 350 range. I'm not expecting news from QTX until the turn of the year. A comparison between QTX and TRAK would make a brilliant MBA case study. It is important to me because they are at opposite poles and I can learn what type of company I want to back. apad ps I worked with a Business School once. What a bizarre experience that was! | apad
05/9/2017 08:49 | Glad I took my small profit. These momentum stocks are alright but I've been stuck before. As I said earlier, enormously capital intensive business. Apple make the huge profits, not the chip manufacturers. It's all about second sourcing, not relying on one supplier and pushing prices down by fractions of a cent. Not a share I'd want to own now being the guy who paid the most. | melton john
05/9/2017 08:43 | GAW, another update, what a remarkable company that's turned out to be. | modform
05/9/2017 08:28 | FWIW Hydrus, I reckon there'll be placing or rights issue after they spend money on capacity and the inevitable delay in the envisaged new market delivering orders. In the meantime management will reward themselves for their foresight. I've taken an interest because it should be my sort of company. Its not :-( Bored with it now. PRV continues its long decline. ABC FY this monday. apad | apad
05/9/2017 08:17 | Naughty APAD, that's prohibited and may result in a lengthy ban. | hydrus
05/9/2017 08:08 | Never was a Monkies fan, sheryl :-) I copied the post on the IQE board, hydrus. I need some dictatorial discipline. apad | apad
05/9/2017 08:05 | apad, u have to be a Believer ;) | sherylchan
05/9/2017 08:02 | IQE: Quick Look Loved that the first two words are "Strong Ramp". Can afford to pay the bills. Cash flow down. Investment in intangible assets x3 Diluting share options x2 Diluted eps 1p cf 1.43 Debt up More capacity planned - current capacity not fully utilised. My opinion is that this company's future depends on whether this really is "an inflection point" in IQE's market and iff so whether it can get a significant proportion of the market. Sunny uplands and bluebirds. I cannot buy this company because I cannot understand what makes it special - i.e. difficult to compete with technically. I bet the market will love these interims - but they won't understand the technology either. apad | apad
05/9/2017 07:47 | IQE, make up your own mind, I am just glad I sold | modform
05/9/2017 07:41 | When is ABC's then ? | panic investor
05/9/2017 07:36 | G4M revenue growth looks pretty good but no detail in profits. Got a smaller position there now having taken profits after the meteoric rise | hydrus
05/9/2017 07:35 | IQE - no position or understanding of the company but once again the red flag of an overly positive, dictatorial very active bulletin board might be a factor? | hydrus
04/9/2017 21:50 | ROCE of about 50 and net cash of about 80, mod. I reckon ABC'll see us all right :-) ABC and AMS next week. There are plenty of gems on the market that keep delivering. The trick is to view the "pure story" shares as a bit of fun. Pleased you managed some excess FFX. Still feeling a chump for not applying for any. apad | apad
04/9/2017 21:37 | Yes well done on Dest. he who dares Rodney..... red | redartbmud
04/9/2017 21:12 | Apad, Just to let you know that I manged to get a reasonable number of FFX excess shares from the broker, they admitted partial mistake. I am quite relaxed about ABC, it will not be fireworks but steady progress I hope. | modform
04/9/2017 20:21 | Cat usually knows what he's talking about modform. | doodlebug4
04/9/2017 19:32 | Two stocks on a verge of breakout are MIDW and JDG, dyor | modform
04/9/2017 19:06 | Yes, hope you are in doodlebug, I only gambled a small amount , very risky though ... | modform
04/9/2017 18:54 | The XF series has been around for years and is based on weakening the walls of microbial cells. As far as I could find out all the trials in process are Phase 1, so there is a way to go before results might deliver. Might be wrong about this. That, along with the MRSA target meaning it would be expensive and restricted caused me to rule it out. Anyroadup, an interesting roulette wheel stock is Destiny Pharma, for those with patience and who welcome some risk. Plenty of opportunities for hype and news too, so if you are a good trader..... 04/9/2017 18:21 | Good flag up early this morning on DEST modform and thanks to Cat for that one. | doodlebug4
04/9/2017 15:55 | BVXP FY is 17 Oct. apad | apad
04/9/2017 15:47 | My ideal would be that ABC buys BVXP so that I still have it, H. However, Harrison is having a ball and he doesn't look like the sort of guy who would let his diabetes get out of control. The perfect picture would be if ABC kept him on and let him run it without interference. ABC FY on Monday. Nearly bought more BOO this morning at 226. September is an interesting month. apad ps I note that all the nuclear bluster is being ignored by the markets | apad |
