10/9/2017 17:01 | Google Sheets works well, attrader. You have to remember to create a .pdf backup (excel backups don't work well on the Mac) I use an Excel spreadsheet as a separate record of trades, divis, cash in, cash out, etc. I also use StockMarketEye (Mac again) mainly for graphical tools. apad | apad
10/9/2017 13:14 | Daily mail has been a duster. Down 20%. Worst performance in my portfolio. Digital business has still to catch up with declining print business. | attrader
10/9/2017 12:09 | Hi APAD, you mentioned using Google Sheets to manage portfolio. I am looking for a better tool to monitor portfolio performance other than Google Portfolio. What do you monitor in your portfolio? What do you think of Google Sheets? Do you use other tools out there? BTW, i bought Bioventix after your flagged it up. It has grown to be a significant chunk of my portfolio (20%). Thanks for keeping this thread informative and full of quality ideas :) | attrader
10/9/2017 01:02 | Not surprised Apad! One day I would love him to be proved wrong but at this rate perhaps he is right? He sure "loves" his "friend" Jim! Quite remarkable Jim doesn't at least try and stick-up for himself sometimes IMO. Guess he doesn't really care as he is so wealthy already! Time will tell but whether I will have a holding at the time anything good (if anything good) comes out of the company is another matter. The other dog, NANO, issued a desperate RNS announcing an agreement last week as the share price plummeted over the week. Not sure it will do any good unless numbers and other deals are announced. | lauders
09/9/2017 10:16 | Winnifroth has savaged the puppy, Lauders. apad | apad
09/9/2017 09:21 | Thanks Lauders, I missed that one. The usual penetrating analysis. My own view of the company but expressed much better and with more data to back up the viewpoint. My timing on Goodwin was bad, but worse was that I took so long to abandon ship. I remember visiting Castings and being told that they were miserly about capital investment. As I opined to red 'clogs to clogs'. No Big7, I don't buy the IQE hype at all, but there are many who do. So, it will be interesting to see how the story evolves. apad | apad
09/9/2017 04:36 | Sam Houser, born in London, is behind the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Take2 interactive trades on the NASDAQ and is worth $10bn odd. Gta5 has sold over 50m units. This is something for David Braben and FDEV to aim for. | commander t
09/9/2017 02:00 | Beddard on GDWN: One we have discussed a few times before. Remove the period after the first "i". | lauders
08/9/2017 16:43 | Yes H I think I initially went in at the same time, have increased since and just wondering whether to more as it does look v good | big7ime
08/9/2017 16:40 | You haven't gone in have you apad? | big7ime
08/9/2017 16:26 | Blimey IQE big on Bloomberg. www.bloomberg.com/ne apad | apad
08/9/2017 16:22 | FDEV powering away - done my usual thing and taken profits after a very rapid rise. Will probably keep a holding to see how story unfolds but it's not a huge holding.BQE - Big I have a starter position there as you may recall but not had time yet to think about it any further. I'll probably wait for results and take it from there. | hydrus
08/9/2017 15:49 | Considering doubling my holding in BQE as price has come back a bit, the recent interim results if kept up for the full yr are mouth wateringly good and the prod dev is looking exciting and is opening up further markets as not only hospitals are expected to clean up their act | big7ime
08/9/2017 15:33 | PJ1 I did hold some IMM based on your mention earlier this year and some further research. I exited when Nobby started asking difficult questions last week. I actually do have a degree in Biochemistry but I didn't keep it up after Uni so I'm not able to argue the points with Nobby and it's raised enough doubts for me to exit. I may re-enter if/when there's some more clarity from the company. | homebrewruss
08/9/2017 15:20 | Dacian, I just bought it based on technical a few months ago and exited with a profit. If you have done your investigation, then stick with it | modform
08/9/2017 15:03 | Please note I have exited one of my Picks today IMM Immupharma. Its basically not planned out as I hope chart wise, but more importantly serious questions of the Companys Lupozor drug are being asked, and its proven my total lack of scientific knowledge (some say total knowledge lol) so have exited with a Loss. I am not ruling out a re-entry but its brought home the gamble nature of the Stock. I'm not aware anyone else from held any stake. | pj 1
08/9/2017 14:29 | Looks like director dealings is the reason for HLMA weakness. apad | apad
08/9/2017 14:16 | Just how different investor invest, that's why we have a market Dacian, I sold my VLTY yesterday and today, just based on technical, and you bought, it doesn't mean it's not going any higher. I have put the proceeds into MIDWPLUS, is very cheap but I just can't buy it | modform
08/9/2017 13:38 | Far from it, Panic. It's 10% of Stairway and is 130% in profit with 2% Yield. A commitment holding and a great BTFD candidate. It's just that currency hedging for such a company is so bloody stupid. apad | apad
08/9/2017 13:28 | Are you negative ABC apad ? I have large holding there | panic investor |
