Red I've held Dignity for a few years but sold out first thing based on the long term reduced growth outlook they articulated in the statement. Actually very helpful guidance from them and sensible to manage expectations. Priced as a quality growth company but may need to come down to a slow growth defensive company. High debt but that's not really a problem as they can service it as they know their product will always be required :)

Quick catch up with Linhur on the old dog and bone.
He knows a bit about RPC. Neither of us have researched the company, but his tone was positive as a result of what he does know of the business. It is another one to put on my list. As you say, the buys may well pay off handsomely over the longer term. That is exactly what we are looking for. I will do some research.

Yes, he was crying into his cornflakes over Bill Whiteley, despite the debacle at Brammer.

Hammond on his hind legs, will it be verbal garbage?

Hi Mod, thanks. Feeling very well again, asthma awful for 3
months, cleared end of last week, very grateful for that.

Could not bring myself to buy more than 200 BAB this AM,
listened to the recent Q&A on last week's conference call, the future appears positive,
although appearances can sometimes be deceptive ).

red, thanks for the view.

BRSN, the debt made me a little cautious in the past,
however the share price then almost doubled from when I decided against it.
The share price last Summer looked la la land to me, it was factoring in faultless
execution.

RPC, if the current spate of buys pays off, it is very cheap.
However as we have all seen in the past, only one of those has to go wrong
and the market quickly turns against you. Their management controls better
be exceptional to deal with such expansion, just IMV.

APAD, lack of trigger for market falls is a fair point and mentioned that on SHA,
possibly a crude sell off. Although you can quickly get a few % on sentiment
without fundamentals changing, for a more severe retrenchment it needs something
fundamental, and that looks difficult to see atm.

Brsn

I have not followed the stock, but one pointer that I consider is the H-L Yearly movement on the share price.
1 week -12.94% 1 year -30.39%
1 month -5.12% 2 years -28.78%
3 months 2.91% 3 years -23.66%
6 months -36.39 5 years 52.98%
A lot of negative figures there, what has changed to drive the business forward?

RPC
Again not been on my radar.
Punchy PE and low yield, but 'tintins are a buyin' and targeting £2-£3 higher prices.
I do think twice about buying in the US, it depends on their philosophy for the ongoing management of the business.
What has drawn you to the company?

Walk on the wild side with Dty may prove to be an error of judgment.
Still, I have my £6 box of M&S chocolates to fall back on. Only cost 60p in a sell off yesterday afternoon. Good business.

BRSN, chunky CEO buy last week following the disappointing statement,
unconvinced personally, but the CEO may be in a better place to judge value!.

RPC, anyone like, highly acquisitive and their latest buy is US based,
UK companies often regret buying stateside, my view as with BRSN may be too cautious.

I have to confess that having sold some Nrr yesterday, I invested my ill gotten gains, and the capital into Dty @£23.9769. The indicators are oversold. Can I believe the tea leaves? Charts!!
May not hang around in there for too long.

Outlook
The number of deaths has been higher in 2016 than the Group originally anticipated following a significant increase in the number of deaths in 2015. Historical data would suggest that deaths in 2017 could be significantly lower than 2015 and 2016.

It's a rum old world when you use statistical analysis to bet on the number of deaths in any one year.

Started on 60mg steroids a day in January 2016, now down to 4mg a day.
A la Bliar and his crew 'Fings can only get better'. I am no longer climbing up the bedroom walls in the middle of the night - hang on in there.

Linhur will have a soggy bowl of cornflakes this morning, on the Whiteley news, as the tears dilute the milk.

Why did I wait till 42 & 40p to buy Bree, when I could have had them at 14p. Biggest mistake in the last 10 years!

Yesssss - Good results from Hils.
Pity Whiteley is stepping down as Chairman.
'Stop Yer Tickling' Jock Lennox stepping up to the position.
Hmmm.... Wondered when Bill would start to bow out from his positions - Spx next?

Bree - Peter Tom rules ok. That guy sure knows how to run and grow business.

Over-hyped water torture day.
The biggest non-event in the calendar.
Do I have the energy and to sit and watch the paint peel on the walls of the House of Commons when Hammond delivers his budget? Looks like it is going to rain, so perhaps.

Needs a trigger, EI. Perhaps.

Good results from HILS.

I plagiarised the use of tintins for the financial industry hacks from my wife who coined it to describe management consultants when they came into he work - "young men with funny haicuts". She ran a psychology service dealing with young people who were bad, mad and dangerous to know (my non-PC description) so you can imagine how much use tintins were!

David Brent -the office said. 'Whats the difference between a dog and a fox.....about ten pints' hehe.

Really good to see people msking fantastic gains lately.. but be careful those gains are addictive. And reason can sometimes take a back seat when dopamine is in the car (a car that goes faster and faster)

Thanks again for everyones buy to let thoughts.

The tintins don't see what I see in Abcam's interims. Could bode well for a gradual decline, or could be that they don't look carefully at AIM shares.

Nature dictates that puppies grow into dogs, not the other way around, or am I missing something :-)

Love it! Quite correct Apad. HOWEVER, there are "dogs" and then there are dogs! The latter are pedigree and pampered, the former street dogs who are wild and unloved. I am hoping FFWD will develop into the pedigree type.

Will be intriguing to see what reality presents us with in future.

Nice to see BVXP ticking up a little more.

SPX FY 9th March
Nov.
"Whilst we continue to have limited visibility, with short order books and markets that remain lacklustre, we have good diversification across market sectors and geographic regions and will remain focused on our strategies for growth, which, together with the Group's fundamental strengths stand us in good stead. We still have much to do in the remainder of this year but our overall expectations for the full-year are unchanged and the Board has confidence that the Group will make further progress in 2016."
Nov.
"The purchase consideration is on a debt free and cash free basis, and will be financed from Spirax Sarco's existing resources. The acquisition will have a negligible impact on Group earnings in the current year but is expected to be a positive contributor from 2017 onwards."

Good management and a great niche, could over-deliver a little, but not much I guess. Maybe some currency advantage.
4% of portfolio - I expect to hold forever.

Following the herd of shorters is too puzzling, and they have to agree with each other as they plunge over the cliff edge.

Clln around £2.60 to £2.90 in 2013, from my records. I think that I could live with that, especially the higher levels.
Current shorting is 25.99%. The last time I checked it was 21.24%, a while ago.
