SSE has ticked into the green. It needs to move out of first gear now.

I would like to know what dreams the senior management of BT had last night.
The fraud in the Italian operation must have included a very significant number of employees. It beggars belief that they could have got away with it on such a scale, and for so long.
It just shows that regulations, systems and procedures, coupled with audits (internal and external) are not foolproof. Determined fraudsters can be one step ahead of the law.
No matter how diligent we are, when researching companies, there is always the possibility of a big banana skin. It would appear that the size of business eg Tesco as well, makes no difference.

To sleep, perchance to dream, ay there's the rub, for in this sleep what dreams may come....

KOOV rns should be an example on the curriculum of 'how not to do it'.
Wait for the wall of noise :-)

I can't give any opinion on the company itself but I pay for three FreeAgent subscriptions as the software is very easy to use.

This really is a remarkable line-up:

I've asked my Edinburgh based, software employed, son-in-law for an opinion.

Thanks APAD! I had high hopes for FENR and still think there is more to come. With commodities coming back into favour they should do well.

Like your strategy of buying "crazy" shares from income. Trouble is I don't have enough income from large holdings like you do to make that work! Should have been more sensible and started that when I was young(er). If I make my fortune in HOC which I am hoping to do over the next year or two, then I will likely buy some income generating shares and try and follow a similar strategy.

Will we be getting an update on selected shares in the "APAD challenge" soon then seeming as you mentioned FENR? ;-)

Thanks.
By golly, you are right.
I will apply that in future. It is amazing what exists when you look hard enough.

PS
Marstons was pedestrian. Wrong sector, wrong timing.

Think I need a fix, j!

I sort of buy crazy shares, like SOU/FEVR/BOO, from income out of solid stocks.

Then they go on to light the afterburners and I wake up wanting more!

Even watching Amy Winehouse documentaries doesn't help :-(

Depends what you want - my long term hold PCTN - with decent yield - has done me very well.

j,

Agreed. FARN is a roulette wheel stock.

PRSM is high profile. Scott was merely an example. No point in us blithering on about it. We'll agree to differ and I hope I am wrong.

Got some income coming up soon and don't know which way to jump :-)

Apad - I looked at FARN; what concerns me with small pharmas is their reliance on getting through the regulatory processes - no mean feat - and all it needs is one small data set to show something adverse, and that is out of the hands of the company and purely down to the properties of the compound. So it is an area I am very wary of. (look at cir).

PRSM seemed to hit the limelight without Paul Scott! And the market didn't object too strongly at todays results

High profile small caps like G4M and FREE that appear on, for example, Paul Scott develop a band of followers that create and drive a market. Little orphan stocks, like FARN, sit there on a large spread, neglected and forlorn.
An effect not to be underestimated.
