Yeah you right if you have bought below £7.50 it is a gift from god. A profit is profit. Sorry to any guys who have bought in higher here it is being taken out on the cheap when compared to its peers.

You think this is a done deal or someone else will come in with a bid, now the price has been revealed?

Happy with that. Never look in a gift horse in the mouth - we are price takers ie muppets

Squib not squid. All squids are damp. A damp squib is useless. A bit like a flat tyre

Will we see a share price rise into the ex divi date or will it just be a damp squid and not get back to at least £7.50?

Ramdev, Sadhguru bat for Vedanta's Sterlite plant; Tamil Nadu government says don't care about their views

“Met Anil Agarwal Ved ji during my London visit. I salute his contribution in the national building process by creating lacs of jobs and economic prosperity. International conspirators created ruckus at one of Vedanta’s plant in South of India through innocent local people. Industries are the temples of development for the nation. They should not be closed,” tweeted Ramdev on Monday.

It seems incredible that these shares are where they are with oil this high- brokers are indicating a pe of less than 4 for next year and I bet that is factored with oil in the 50 to 60 dollar range- oh well I’ll just take my massive dividend and keep buying!

After Ramdev, Sadhguru bats for Vedanta, warns against 'economic suicide'

Sadhguru tweeted, “Am not an expert on copper smelting but I know India has immense use for copper. If we don't produce our own, of course we will buy from China. Ecological violations can be addressed legally. Lynching large businesses is economic suicide.”

Interestingly, in his tweet, Sadhguru tagged the Twitter handles of the Prime Minister's Office and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Office, in addition to the handle of a popular TV journalist.

loganair - it may they have had issues in the past (hence why some funds have elected to ditch their positions a number of years ago Church of England being one high profile example; l wasn't invested then but anyone that was made a tidy penny). However, they have effectively given 'carte blanche' to inspectors of their Sterlite copper plant, a plant with zero leakage. There's no proof of environmental impact either. That doesn't suggest to me a company with a poor environmental record over the long term.

I've been looking at Vedanta for some time, like with many Indian companies, one thing I've very much noticed is how poor the company's Environmental, Social and Governance principles are which means the company has a poor approach to sustainable and responsible governance over the long term.
