One institution selling and being shorted. Interesting to know why it would be worth shorting as it is such a small position 1.5m

Well Minja having already made over 50% here and be one of the very few to realise value early on I don’t frett to much lol. However I do like to pay attention to my investments the issue is knowing that Redwood and others have such major holdings here that it makes no sense for these shorts to open one of my thoughts is are they be used to keep a lid on the price!

Good steady buying today, with fair volume, so I fully expect the share price to close blue.
It will then be marked as a buy across a number of sites ...
which will inevitably bring in more buyers tomorrow.

Time to stop fretting about small shorts and think more about the big players

Looking to add again on further weakness what’s puzzling is the recent short from the Texas pension scheme and the slight increase from M seems strange!

"Do you not think that the incoming government will not be looking closely at the past and present behaviour of the associated finance firms and intervening."

the personal loans division (small part of VANQ) it made a loss in 2023 & I think in 2022.

So, if you are saying that a labour Govt would complain about VANQ losing money from that, clearly that would be completely illogical.

Perhaps you should have first looked at the results before posting.

--------

And of course borrowers will look around at the cost of borrowing from different lenders and then probably take the cheapest loan they can get as long as the conditions are ok.
If a labour Govt wanted to assist the people borrowing from VANQ then the Govt could just give them the loans themselves, at 0%, or as a free gift.
But of course that won't happen since the Govt will be skint & apparently already needs to raise £30-38bn from new taxes to pay for its plans.

Govts need banks. The economy needs banks. House builders need banks/loans.
Don't expect UK Govts to go against banks !!

Oldtimer

I take the hypocrisy comment.

Was a barb aimed in my direction?

Smoking or vaping is a choice that individuals make

Bats pays a very decent dividend which is my primary objective.
I was a smoker for quite a few years hence my reluctance to invest in the past.

I have been very fortunate that touch wood I have never been desperate enough to go to a high interest charging company.

Do you not think that the incoming government will not be looking closely at the past and present behaviour of the associated finance firms and intervening.

I remain uninvested and will continue to do so but you 'pays your money' and makes your choice.

So good luck with your endeavours.

ok, Norges bank is the state bank of Norway

so it has deep pockets !

so, Petrrr3 was right that they can buy £1/2m more of VANQ shares without blinking.

go on then Peterrr3

£1/2m

tell us how much uninvested cash Norges Bank has at this moment ? (from which it can buy more VANQ shares)

and how does that compare with their guideline for their preferred level of univested cash ?

Do you really know that level of info for Norges bank ??

maybe you are right....but one would perhaps need to read the Norges Bank accounts or numbers to be sure.

Norges Bank is a indep. commercial bank or is it the massive Norwegian State assets fund (built up from income from the oil sector) or is it the state bank of Norway ?
