22/1/2020 09:39 | Peel Hunt reiterates 55p target price today. Hopefully the company is now entering a growth phase with increased government spending to come. | mfhmfh
22/1/2020 08:48 | Results as expected. Need to ensure work picked up is profitable and ideally gain some high margin railway work. Holding mine for recovery (at least its still profitable, which can't be said for all small AIM stocks) Rich | lammylover

09/1/2020 16:23 | Nearly 17m shares traded today - majority in massive lumps. Be interesting to see who has baled out and who has bought into VANL. Rich | lammylover
08/1/2020 11:44 | Well Ive followed the CEO by buying in here today. He's into his second year and should be making his mark. New CFO too not that long ago. Looking back at the numbers and its quite cyclical. So feel this could rebound in 2020/2021. Also like that its a leader in its field. Its recommended on this youtube below (can't quite remember the exact time but roughly at the 13 minute mark or so). By the way I also like 1pm which is also recommended in the same video and one Id advise people to take a closer look at (Im a holder). "Top AIM stocks to watch in 2020" (published 20/12/19) - Good luck all. | the oak tree
23/12/2019 07:15 | RNS - Mark Cutler CEO buys 22,597 shares, Hopefully he knows more about VANL's future profitability than the doom mongers on here! LOL Rich | lammylover
22/12/2019 17:27 | Agree Keyno with your point - makes no sense slagging off the management team on here. I've always believed if you work for a company and are not happy, move on. If you get made redundant, take your redundancy payment and move on. Its just business, but some people, for whatever reason have to take it as personal and seem to want to get even. 22/12/2019 11:30 | muckshifter: Quite agree re the steady stream of "new" posters who pop up and who only post on this thread. Never seen anything like it too. I sometimes wonder if we are witnessing boots of ex-employees going in with some of them as they - or him/her - seem to be well acquainted with the fine detail. I have to add I feel like joining in sometimes. As Terry Thomas used to say "What a shower!" | keyno
20/12/2019 23:10 | So they buy work, release a profit warning, sack their rail divisional director and their share price goes up? Only at Van Elle. | citizen_kane
19/12/2019 14:08 | It's amazing how many comments have appeared since the price started rising. Thought everyone had forgot about them. | jwball
19/12/2019 13:51 | Bought a few of these just before the election, despite this thread having more false posters (or one with many names perhaps) than any thread I've seen before. | muckshifter
19/12/2019 12:47 | Buying work to keep the directly-owned plant active and the directly-employed staff busy? Not a bad tactic in the short-term, but may point to underlying problems within the management structure. | virageman
19/12/2019 07:49 | CEO Mark Cutler buys 26,502 VANL shares - not a huge buy, but better than nothing! At least he sees some upside.. | lammylover
17/12/2019 07:33 | Hi James, you're right that reduced profits normally isn't good news; however on VANL I think its all about expectations. A small £1m profit is better than none and if results improve in H2, it should see share price lift again. At 38p/share, VANL market cap was only £30.4m so undervalued based on potential for turnaround. Was worth 80p/share with profits at £4-6m. Entirely plausible that this could be delivered again in next 1-2 years if economy (construction) benefits from Brexit deadlock unfreeze and large funds released for capex projects. Just my view. Rich | lammylover
16/12/2019 21:42 | How can an increase in Turnover by 6 million but a reduction in profit of 1.8 million be good news. In my book it means that they cannot manage the projects or are buying the work. Surely with Turnover up we would expect to see increased profits. | jamesk3
16/12/2019 12:20 | Doesn't remind me of Jarvis in any way at all. PS. And I remember them very well! | muckshifter
16/12/2019 11:57 | The trading update this morning seems to suggest that the company is past the worst and the recovery in the share price suggest others think the same. | daz
