Otus Capital significantly increase their stake in Van Elle from 5.23% to 10.18%. I wonder who has sold them this stock? Rich

The terms of the LTIP are described in the 2018 AR (p45). They seem reasonable enough and don't vest unless TSR and EPS thresholds are met, so they do align management and shareholder interests. (The trough is whithheld for three years, red!)

I'd be a bit more sceptical about the terms of the annual bonus (up to 100% of salary), which aren't disclosed.

I haven't bought these, but am interested. Like 'Lammylover' I have wider concerns.

Further to the announcement of 3 May 2018, the Company is pleased to confirm that Mark Cutler has today joined the Board of Van Elle as Chief Executive Officer.

On joining the Group, Mr Cutler has today been granted an award over a total of 331,395 ordinary shares of 2 pence each in the capital of the Company under the Van Elle Holdings plc Long Term Incentive Plan 2016 ("LTIP"). The award has been granted in the form of an option to acquire the aforementioned shares at an exercise price of 2 pence per share. The award is governed by the rules of the LTIP and, subject thereto, will vest on the third anniversary of the date of grant to the extent determined in accordance with certain performance criteria. Further information on the LTIP can be found in the Company's annual report and accounts.

Maybe this doesn't help the cause. Snout in trough before he has crossed the threshold.

Hi Dahhad, no need to apologise, its a tough market for all of us at the moment!

I keep looking at shares that I think are undervalued (MARS, GNK), but the market doesn't seem that rationale and the latest Turkish lira collapse and risk of contagion is making everyone fearful. Normally I trust my judgement and buy more shares when at year low prices; expecting a bounce, but am concerned about catching a falling knife at the moment..

I'm also in LLOY and am struggling to understand how the shares were worth 70.4p in Feb on good results and now only worth 61.5p despite improved results, £1bn buyback and mega dividend! However, I believe they are a good long term bet with strong CET1 ratio and retail bank focus, so will come good, once PPI finishes..

We desperately need a) Trump to see the error of his ways on trade wars, before he instigates a global recession and b)Some sort of Brexit agreement, that stops us crashing out of the EU with no agreement.
I live in hope!
Rich

Sorry if I appear negative. My average price is 87p having bought 2 or 3 lots and I have no desire to see the price lower so that I can buy more! I would be tempted back in when they start to deliver and the price gets into the 90s on the way up! It's just the boring accountant in me that appears negative! That and owning other shares, such as Flybe and Lloyds, that aren't inspiring optimism either!

Hi Dahhad, my take on it is that all RNS FY / HY results / updates etc are always very detailed and honest. VANL never shy away from posting problems and that's actually why I like this business. I doubt the new CEO will find (m)any new issues not already known and fully expect us to kick on from here. I assume, as all your posts are negative, that you are looking for an entry point lower? (sub 80?) Personally I reckon this will go past 100p by the end of the year and is already a steal at this price with low p/e and excellent dividend. Also makes good margin and strong profit. Just one large contract win will see this fly! Rich

Lammylover, k he would have that effect but expect to see the kitchen sink thrown into the next set of figures as per usual when a new CEO comes into a "troubled business" Could see it taking 12 mths to get back into 90's. Hopefully I'm too pessimistic!!

New, permanent CEO starts today - good news as originally his start date was as late as October 2018. Hopefully he can provide a safe pair of hands, provide clear direction; get troops fired up and get us back on track for 120p plus!

Good work in buying ThorpeMatt! I reckon these shares are easily worth north of a pound. Lets see what the new CEO brings! Just need to be a bit more proactive with news on contract wins and it should fly..

Well I am pleased to say that I eventually managed to buy in at my targeted average price.

I kinddof figured that this is way undervalued and that 80p was a good support level so more upside than down.

It's a tad illiquied this one, with only half the stock in frre float and a fairly wide spread. (i don't usually go past 3%). But the seriuolsy low forward PEG and very modest fPER cannot be justified given the company's position and track record.

So I am gonna sit here taking a divi until Mr Market cottons on.

Increasingly companies having to build on old sites, on made up ground that requires specialist foundations. I like VAN's solutions, which will be cost effective for the client

FY Solid performance and profit £9.2m as expected with slight impact due to Carillion failure. Like the investment in more rigs - just needs new CEO to galvanise troops and drive more profitable business. Have the right equipment and expertise in specialist field, so shouldn't be that difficult...surely?

Underlying figures solid enough and share looks cheap at P/E 7.7% and FY Dividend 4.56% - have added some more at 81p. gla Rich

@ jhan66 - I thought the results were pretty encouraging, too. I don't hold and aren't buying anything for the time being, but this looks to have solid prospects from here.

@ gutterhead - the rules for communicating via RNS are that it's not necessary to tell the market if there is no change in a circumstance. In fact, I think companies which exhibit RNS fever feel insecure, or want to give a false impression of dynamism!

I tend to agree, I think the management behaviour/communication has been shocking.
you would think the interim guy would have stepped up and at least sent some words of reassurance for employees and shareholders alike.
trading ok? new ceo appointment still on track?
this company shares hit 140p and have slowly languished over last 18 months, surely a case for communicating to all.
if I can track the interim CEO down today, I will ask some questions and let all know

Mboy101, purely subjective but I didn't think that the May update was positive and I think the second half will have been very difficult. That coupled with the downward drift in the share price doesn't fill me with confidence.

in this time without a permanent ceo and general uncertainty, you'd think this company would be making an effort to let its owners (us) know what is going on.
shockingly bad communication
