well on the Canada boards they seem to be expecting some kind of bounce back - we'll see when their market opens later today. Some buy trades (like the 40,000) are showing delayed here, but not sure why if there is an overhang of stock to clear ?

yes must have been a chunk offloaded as seems to be fairly illiquid normally. e.g. on 2nd Dec a 10,579 buy trade paid 75.5p when spread was 72-74p 09:13:37 10,579 75.5 72 74

411k buys against 73k sells so they must have someone deciding to off load a decent chunk and move on but it looks like a bargain to me!

just come across this...wow, this is a crazy drop - This had a broker forecast of over 550p a few months ago (August). Director buys close £1.45...and well funded with no debt. '..At the same time, it is important to highlight to everyone the strength of our Company. Valeura has over $50 million of cash and holds no debt. We continue to generate positive cash flow from ongoing production, and in addition carry 2P reserves of 7.4 million boe; valued at $88 million as of our last external audit. Financial returns associated with our production and reserves continue to improve with strong netbacks of over $33/boe due to Turkey's attractive fiscal terms and gas price realisations of nearly $10/Mcf... ‘

UKC Quite like Rank, has been unloved for years, but interesting play with the reform of Casinos etc.

one to consider then - whats its ticker other short lists were united utilities and rank - not so great dividend but some upside

Have you considered Uk coal, pays dividend of over 10%, and has property assets (ie industrial parks and development land) of 80p per share. Does not make any profits but that is due to the huge depreciation charge, the key with this one is cashflow and it generates buckets of it, look how it has paid off all its loans since flotation. Dividend is likely to be increased and there is the possibility of returns of capital.

couple of typos - sorry barlo (no w) - just ruled this out having read interims northamber is the proper spelling volex (still concerned re lack of capital spending) - probably off list stirling group looks like favourite - clothing manufacturers firth rixson in aerospace which might have been over hit by sept 11th not sure on renold gradually narrowing it down - looking to buy 3 at this stage. another 3 in three months time then gradually build to ten as my value portfolio

Barlow- never heard of them, not showing up on CD refs. Dowding and mills, trades just below net asset value, pays a good divi but I would be concerned that borrowings have risen each year and the directors own only .5% of the company. Volex, one on my watch list, dividend only 4.3%, and gearing high at 84%, but when the electronic sector turns this could indeed move a long way. I would like to get in around £2! Firth Rixson, directors own only .23%, dividend around 4.3%, very low turnover to price and could move significantly once operating gearing gets underway. One for me to look at in more detail i think! Renold I own this one and am just about making a profit having bought it last Autumn I like the yield and it looks to have turned. northern plat r?? don't know this one. Fletcher King very small market cap just over 2m, you may have difficulty with liquidity issues in buying/selling this stock. Stirling Group, I hold this one as well, and bought more last week at 25.5p. Nice dividend yield and looks cheap. Hope this helps.
