There are a very few PI’s with direct experience of working and/or transacting business in MENA. A huge amount of bureacracy, patience and ‘regional pragmatism ($$)’ is the norm. That said if the $1M bond is held in escrow with a decent European bank money could flow back as work progresses with minimal delays. When will the £795,000 be transferred?

Memories in our species are so short, Tommy Cook and the other naff bucket shop companies were flogging this area as safe. Those of us in the know were perfectly aware of the estimated 15,000 Salafists resident in the place and tended to avoid it. The rest is history.

Security is difficult, very hard to assess trustworthiness re green on blue risks. Euro or Yank armed ex-mil civilians are the preferred option. Its expensive though.

That said, if Wick is a winner there will be plenty of money to take on this ‘interesting’ region and you guys could become spectacularly rich!

So with that positive in mind have a very Happy Christmas or Secular Winterval.

Work obligations for stage 1 seem quite undemanding. No requirement for 3D seismic or a well.

Good news in terms of capital requirements

But I hope they move a little faster than the minimum requirements over the next 2 years, especially with potential oil and multiple gas targets

Surprised we have not hit 4P on this news alone, two company makers in play now and we are still awaiting an update on Sarawak. This reminds me a little of TERN a year ago when it was at 3P, any positive news on Wick or declared CPR for Tunisia and this will multibag quicker than you can log on. Have a good Xmas all.

Anyone like to guess what cpr is likely to say? We know they were hoping to get a tcf size of licence but sounds like there could be oil as well.
