21/12/2018 15:29 | Doesn't help with the wide spread showing all trades as sells... They aren't. | babbler
21/12/2018 15:23 | hulltiger, A couple of months ago, when the price of Brent went to $85/bbl, it overshot quite a bit. Right now, its close to over extending itself the otherway. I imagine at some point it'll stabilise around $55-60/bbl nextyear, especially when production cuts kick in. Of course, that scenario is if we avoid a major downturn. If that happens - there is a lot of evidence, both technical and historical to suggest we are heading towards another recession, then everyone suffers. Some very old hands in the market say we have already entered into a cyclical downturn. This year has been worrying for me as we've witnessed a lofty, 10year high in markets, peak house prices and rising interest rates. A toxic combination. The longterm at UPL should be fine, as long as they keep to the strategy and deliver. Cash | cashandcard
21/12/2018 14:53 | Brent at 53.84 and the downward pressure is relentless . As stated here, the price has no influence on Upl until it starts selling the stuff. What it does do, it stiffles investors interest in drilling projects. It is very unfortunate but like PRD they should have reassured investors, that they will have a viable business in the current climate. Please excuse my ramblings but as investors we think we could run the business better than the BOD. Still at the end of the day I invested in the Dr both here and PRD. | hulltiger
21/12/2018 13:02 | Turn around in oil prices already stated. | nlmbidc
21/12/2018 12:04 | Yes general fear in the market subduing this. Crude will reverse the trend when the traders feel they can't screw it down any more, and all go long again. Saudi will cut back exports to US in Jan. The worst doom and gloom press articles always appear just before the hoards plan their mass exodus of short positions. Lower oil prices doing upland no harm at all right now anyway, but yeah the sentiment change will help us gain more traction. Until of course we start getting actual news, which will have its own, hopefully extremely positive, effect. | throwingmuses
21/12/2018 11:57 | Tiger, you have hit the nail on the head, imho things will be very different by Easter so all we need is a little more time, and a lot of good luck. I wish you a happy Christmas and the very best of good luck for you and good health for Mrs.Tiger. | poppet123
21/12/2018 11:28 | hulltiger, Agree, they have taken way too long and now anything but success will be punished. Better late than never. Lets see what happens. Cash | cashandcard
21/12/2018 11:17 | Good morning all, I was hoping for a nice pre drill lift but the timing of the drill could not have come at a worse time (no fault of the company) The world, for all sorts of reasons is suffering from fear, resulting in falling stock markets ect.,. ect. and in this case crude. | hulltiger
21/12/2018 10:30 | Ps 3.18 are buys as is the 100k. | babbler
21/12/2018 10:29 | Going by other shares recently will probably rally 80 to 140 percent and drop back. Who knows could be controlled rise which is better imo. | babbler
21/12/2018 10:10 | Will this finally take off now as we're getting closer to drill bit hitting the ground? Dire markets these days. | 78steve
21/12/2018 09:54 | Via Amnesic on Twitter UPL Rigwatch Ensco 72 arrived on Wick block at around 9pm & manoeuvred precisely over proposed well location within 2 hrs. AHTSs cut loose around 3.30am with E72 standing firm; Maersk Lifter remains, Pacific Dispatch returns to Montrose. Standby Safety Vessel Esvagt Champion + 2 Fast Rescue Boats attend nearby. 20/12/2018 15:44 | 200k buy? To add to the others... | babbler
20/12/2018 15:21 | Up she pops again! | tburns
20/12/2018 15:02 | People starting to take notice here, could see a strong rise into the Xmas close on Monday lunchtime. | tburns
20/12/2018 14:26 | Well done Tyler90. I hope everyone else is doing the same. | nlmbidc
20/12/2018 14:24 | In fairness, Wick is the only game in town right now. I see Malaysia and Tunisia taking while to come to fruition yet. This is unfortunately what happens when you go to far flung territories, they work at a different pace and bureaucracy is a nightmare. Be grateful UPL is not in the same position as CLON, who have been waiting for several years for Ghanian license to be ratified, with little else to fall back on. There is less hassle here and a lot going on behind the scenes. I have more confidence in Wick than others here, updip from Lybster and should be bounded by the fault and sealed in. There is definitely a working petroleum system in the area given Lybster field is only 2-3miles from the westerly mapped extent of Wick prospect, targeting the same Beatrice sands that have produced at Lybster. Not far aswell from Knockinnon oil discovery. All to play for yet and kick off is soon. Cash | cashandcard
20/12/2018 13:50 | It's a little more than a side show! Have you performed the simple task of reading the post correctly?? Thought being that even on success it will most probably be our third largest enterprise in a couple of years time, hopefully by some distance. | throwingmuses
20/12/2018 13:35 | Throwing How on earth can Wick be a ‘sideshow̵ Your call I guess, atb. | gunsofmarscapone
20/12/2018 12:49 | It may be due but if it's not known to them, maybe they can? Not sure. Anyway, if the time of trade is correct it was definitely a buy. We were at 1.87/1.95 at the time. | throwingmuses
20/12/2018 12:42 | Strange that a 4.3m buy only got us back to level. I doubt directors would be able to buy in this period when so much news is due. | soulsauce
20/12/2018 12:34 | Definitely a buy anyway, I paid 2.95 for 10k just before it. I wonder.... | throwingmuses
20/12/2018 12:02 | Maybe someone has a good feeling about the impending Tunisia CPR. When did sound start to go bonkers? After the resources estimate, or the first drill? | throwingmuses
20/12/2018 11:34 | Better half used to work for HMRC so I have been 'tax sheltered' pretty much most of my adult life :-) | tyler90 |
