20/6/2018 13:50 | I would guess activity and trading will pick up a lot from July onwards. Now that Ramadan is over we could get news anytime from Sarawak or NAfrica. The prospectus did say they were in advanced discussions and add this to Dr Staley's comment re: good newsflow in coming months made recently | thejaba

20/6/2018 10:58 | on looking at the prospectus it really is striking the number of shares the chairman holds. Zakaria holds 120m shares in UPL. that's some holding. I would suspect that he will never sell his holding in entirety and his exit will probably be realised on the sale of uplands, a la Cove. Add that to Bolhassan and Steve Staleys holdings then it gives you an idea that this is really following a potential Cove path...and thy will get the biggest gains on a sale of UPL, whenever that is. | thejaba
20/6/2018 10:41 | Mines been booked for ages. Had to pay extra for priority + 2 cabin bags (essential for the amount of shares I hold) | thejaba
20/6/2018 10:11 | Ive booked my seat ! | maverick247
20/6/2018 06:15 | Yes stark...like a Ryanair flight...the earlier you book the better value for money...but it can be a bumpy ride ! | doughty
19/6/2018 19:15 | Just a heads up regarding the broker note from Optiva.....The broker note was only handed out to Corporate Clients / Potential investors with big money :)Wonder how many are already eye balling UPL now and how many are sitting there scratching their heads looking at what is possible.Just remember that these corporate clients are not small fish, they're probably looking for 10s of millions to buy ?Now we have front row seats and are already strapped in for a very busy remainder 2018.I can only see the MMs struggling here to fill those orders from the Corporates ;-)Nice evening all | stark industries
19/6/2018 16:48 | @Zengas 2999 "Won't be drilling Hardstoft until 2019." I think there are different views among partners, not just in the modelling (as there are several mentions in the CPR about differences between Europa's model and Blackwatch's view, as you'd expect given how limited and old the data are) but in the timing. If you look at the June presentation by Europa (25% partner), they have it much further into the long grass. hxxp://www.europaoil Slide 34: 2D seismic acqisition in 2019 leading to drill decision Slide 35: Possible seismic 2020, possible well 2021 | spangle93
19/6/2018 13:06 | Interesting find regards background to legal action taking place re ownership of oil rights in Sarawak...a good explanation of why this may not be settled by the courts in Malaysia, possible reference to a London court or preferably, a renegotiation of the Petroleum Development Act 1974...... Thanks to copperpot on LSE for the link.... | sja123
19/6/2018 10:36 | Should tick up based on current buys I would think | tburns

19/6/2018 09:02 | Sounds good. To get best bang for buck, I would hope they avoid these smalltime onshore UK licenses and fields. That's because they take an age because of planning delays and, whilst lower risk, are simply not compelling in a climate where oil is $70+ and you have councils/Nimbys to contend with (look at wressle). Even now, there are plenty of exciting, sizeable opportunities still within financial reach globally, just look at RBD. UPL needs to cut capital away from these small fry projects and focus on growth. That will come from cheap potentially sizeable assets with production or near term production potential. Don't see that coming from onshore UK. Cash | cashandcard
