I firmly believe that because the market didn't send the share price to the anywhere near supposed '14p offer', those involved in the 'ramp' retracted their ruse, if it had succeeded many who jumped on the bandwagon would've been stuck in on the spike, the fact it hovered around the .5.5p level saved many from been truly scammed. Reckon it should open around .1.75p in the morning, and that's reliant on the MM's getting out of the bed the right side!

Do you get paid by the word, or by the post? Come on, put some effort in, there's a huge volume of shorts to be bought back in the morning. You'll be competing with sellers at highs, and PIs getting a second chance to buy on the cheap. Try again with a few more words this time...

this delusion on short attack is max copium, anyone retail could short UPL simply because it was an easy short and a blatent fraud

This is exactly the problem, 90% of this board only want to sling dirt and hope some sticks on the company. The fraud was perpetrated by the scammers, understand? These scammers would know it was a fake bid, understand? Don't you think they then might short sell? And big? If they were smart enough to fool the FCA and takeover panel, don't you think they might be smart enough to open a large short? I say to the authorities, follow the money. Do your job and get these spivs locked up asap

Lots of possibilities, but what happens is regardless of an individual's thoughts on here. If you believe in the company, you only lose when you sell, If you intend on keeping your holding, just switch off your device for a week or 2 until things settle.
Shorters will buy their holdings back when at a level they are happy with, which may increase the share price ....

Overview... with 2-3p opportunityHttps://zakstraderscafe.com/the-week-in-small-caps-upland-downland/7972/As far as what may happen next there are obviously a few scenarios to chew on. It may be that because the market was not big on the offer idea the downside from the current 4.5p level is limited to where the stock was prior to it: 3p. However, given the burnt finger factor, one might suspect an initial move lower to the 2-3p zone, and then things settle down. As I said in the Bulletin Board Heroes video, there may be an opportunity to take advantage of any brief bear trap below 2p. Hopefully that is the limit to the downside.

The FCA should be looking very closely at whoever sold/short sold in large amounts last Monday morning. Upland will be supporting them all the way, as I do.

Borrowed post but so true MM will play games but this is not material news that would cause the price to tank and stay down permanently. A low ball placing, a dry well, warnings about late accounts, being sued, a decision to delist, warnings about financial status, these are matters that cause a price to tank. The withdrawal of an offer is not one of them unless the price reflected the offer price. The price never reflected the offer price of 14p in the first place. It closed at 4.5p when it was 3p before the offer news. The news was released on Friday evening so investors will have the whole weekend to sleep on it. I believe this will have less of an impact then if the news was released 07:00 Monday, but we shall see.You are quite right about faith in the management. The pressure is on for them to repair the damage caused to their reputation.

Wewillwin20,

"If not suspended mms will possibly collapse this to 1p"

Bedwetters crying themselves to sleep that the share price is about to collapse is NOT a good enough reason for the FCA to suspend.

PWhite73,

stockhunters - "is it true company do not even own the asset they just own a small portion of technical report?"

You: "I don't know where you got the small portion of the technical report from."

Perhaps stockhunters has read the right RNSs? You should try it one day!

"n particular the Company is also pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Upland Resources (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd ("UPS"), has entered an agreement with Big Oil Ventures Sdn Bhd ("BOV") to increase its interest in the Sarawak joint venture from 20% to 45%.

From:

The key point being that it's less than 50.1% and hence UPL don't control it

You again: "Its true they don't own any assets because that is the way the oil industry in Sarawak works. You don't purchase licences like you do for block P123 in the UK North sea. The government owns everything and they allow companies to prove up blocks. The state owned governing body PETROS has approved of the JV plan between Upland and Big Oil Venture (UBO) on Block SK334. UBO are now looking to source a rig."

And yet just 9 days ago:

"Proposal for SK334 PSC submitted and received positively by PETROS on the 20 Sept 2023"

They don't have permission!
