Assuming you did call the BoD today and they did tell you it was genuine, and you are not making this up, then report them to the FCA. Top tip if you call the BoD like that again record the conversation.

Anyone who thinks it takes the company a week to find out if William G was behind the bid is presumably gullible enough to think the bid was real at all.
