Results should be out towards the end of this month. Hopefully new record results will be achieved. ANGL results will be out about the same time.

Liam FitzGerald is a graduate of University College Dublin and the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business.

He joined United Drug in 1993 and had responsibility for the Contract Distribution Outsourcing (CDO) business before being appointed to the Board in 1996. In that year, Liam also took responsibility for expansion of the Company's CDO business into the UK market. Furthermore, he was instrumental in the strategic decisions to move into the Contract Sales Outsourcing (CSO) business, both in Ireland and the UK, and to develop the Medical & Scientific (M&S) business division.

Liam is 38 years old and, in addition to his responsibilities in United Drug, has recently stepped down as Chairman of The Marketing Society in Ireland. He has been Chief Executive Officer of United Drug since September 2000.

New Board Appointments at United Drug plc

United Drug plc is today (Tuesday, 28th September 2004) pleased to announce the appointment of three new Directors to its Board. Mr. Gary McGann, Chief Executive of the Jefferson Smurfit Group and Mr. Peter Gray, Chief Executive of ICON plc join the Board as Non-Executive Directors, and Ms. Annette Flynn, Group Development Manager of United Drug plc, joins the Board as an Executive Director.

Mr. Philip Caffrey, an Executive Director since 1976, retires after more than thirty years with the Company and Mr. Percy Delany, a Non-Executive Director since 1986, recently reached retirement age and has stepped down from the Board.
