Now looking like mid July at the earliest, sad to say. For PJ to have pointed at 10th June as last date for warrant holders and "not expecting any further extensions" I'm guessing something went wrong somewhere.

I believe there was a warrant holder meeting on 1st June so were they told of a delay? Did they convert or was a further extension agreed? I can't imagine they'd let them lapse.

PJ promised to keep us informed but he's not doing. I know there's nothing we can do about it but it's poor form to hold back on what may have been a material shift. Is he hoping to capture headlines at Cannabis Europa London, 28 – 29 June? Not good if you have two Hellenic Directors speaking but with nothing to say except we're still waiting.

And, with some serendipity, we have this, later today :

Calderwood Capital together with Sanvia Capital is hosting COMPASS PATHWAYS CEO and Co-founder (CMPS CEO Interview, June 22nd, 11am EST/1600 GMT

Calderwood Capital has the great pleasure of hosting a Twitter Spaces with George Goldsmith the co-founder and CEO of Compass Pathways.

The psychedelic space has seen a renaissance of academic interest over the past few years, as evidence continues to build on the substances ability to improve various mental illnesses and neurological conditions. Not only is this an important area of research, but it is also timely given the pandemic’s toll on mental health.

For those new to the space, and the academic progress, the seminal book is Michael Pollen’s NY Times bestseller “How to Change Your Mind”. The book is now being turned into a Netflix docuseries (out in July), which we think is an indication of societies shifting attitude, and interest in, psychedelics.

We believe that CMPS is the best positioned company in the psychedelic space. It has developed a synthetic version of psilocybin, the active ingredient in ‘magic mushrooms’, and the clinical results have been so impressive that it was designated as a Breakthrough Therapy by the FDA. In addition, CMPS has a team that knows how to progress therapies through the regulatory system, they have a robust package of patents, and they have sufficient funding to get them through Phase 3 trials.

CMPS current market cap is $440m. From an expected value perspective, this looks compelling. The upside is quite large, and the odds of an FDA approval, given the Breakthrough Therapy designation, seem good. By way of comparison, GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH), the cannabinoid company that won FDA approval for its CBD formulation to treat rare childhood epilepsy syndromes, was acquired for an enterprise value of $6.7 bn. and we think the addressable market for CMPS could be many times larger.

Hope some folk find this of interest /use.

NAI, IMO, DYOR etc etc

Anyone interested in seeing a more enlightened approach to dealing with some medical challenges that conventional pharma isn't handling successfully should have a look at

Cannabis is just soooooo 'yesterday's news'.....

.."We aim to reduce unnecessary barriers to legitimate scientific and medical research and enable Plant Medicine access rights for citizens of the UK and around the world.

Currently, many natural medicines - including entheogenic plants and fungi like Psilocybin Mushrooms, Mescaline Cacti, Iboga and plants similar to Ayahuasca - are illegal in the UK and in the majority of the world.

We aim to provide a resource and template to encourage people to tell politicians and law makers about their positive experiences with Plant Medicine...."

gp prescribing opiates for chronic pain management hasn't worked and is not the solution. could this be the basis for a prescribing review?

-govt have halted the rollout of smart motorways
-they are now thinking about food security [finally!] and revised plans on rewilding farm land
-very slowly reconsidering net zero, knowing that fossil fuels need to be relied upon for longer than they might desire

starts tues: Cannabis Europa London, 28 – 29 June

its probably right that no mention has been made of when meeting eligibility committee because of the risk of being asked to do a redraft and coming back to a subsequent appt. say nothing until the process is over. hence the wide window in that email exchange. tick tock...

as gps continue to hide behind the receptionist/gatekeepers and tele-medicine and nhs waiting times going stratospheric and the days of opiates/oxycontin for chronic pain possibly numbered, i can see chronic pain management taken out of gp hands, with a greater shift than already to 'wellness' clinics/therapies/alt-medicine

'Opioid prescribing for chronic pain
Opioids are very good analgesics for acute pain and pain at the end of life but there is little evidence that they are helpful for long-term pain. Despite this, they are widely prescribed for this reason – opioid prescribing more than doubled in the period 1998 to 2018. This has been referred to as an opioid epidemic in the UK, similar but not at the same scale as the opioid crisis in the USA.

The harms of this prescribing are now better understood, and government is regulating further. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency will now ensure that packs of opioid medication carry clear warnings about the risks of addiction and dependence.

Doctors that specialise in pain have observed that over time the principles used in prescribing for acute pain and pain at the end of life have been applied to the field of chronic pain, despite a lack of evidence of effectiveness and the potential for harm.

Guidance from NICE is clear that opioids are not indicated for chronic pain, and guidance from the Royal College of Anaesthetists (the professional body for doctors that specialise in pain) has been clear about the harm that can be caused.'

'Opioid epidemic

The team behind the research warns that better guidance for clinicians to manage chronic pain is essential if an ‘opioid epidemic’ similar to the one in the US is to be avoided. There are public health concerns associated with the long term use of pain relievers or opioids and doubts about their ability to effectively treat chronic pain, say the researchers.

Prescription pain killers

Some 23 million prescriptions for opioid painkillers were written in the UK in 2014 at a cost of around £322 million. Misuse is becoming a significant public health issue, including in the US, where the death rate from opioid misuse has quadrupled over the past 15 years.'

--
'Chronic pain affects more than two fifths of the UK population, meaning that around 28 million adults are living with pain that has lasted for three months or longer, a new study reveals. The authors estimate that almost 44% of the population experience chronic pain, with up to 14.3% living with chronic pain that is either moderately or severely disabling.'

for an early july deal completion and assumed listing we're looking at prospectus distribution between fri 17 and fri 24 jun, which gives comeback dates of fri 1 to fri 8 jul, but who would list on a fri?

at earliest, sometime next week for an announcement, assuming there are no other intermediary steps after the eligibility committee

I’m sure I’m not dreaming when I saw a date of 10/6/22 on a recent RNS ?

Nevertheless I’ve had this little email exchange with Peter,

Hi Peter
Any update on the RNS dated 17/5/22 which mentioned a completion date of 10/6/22 ?

Kind Regards

Hi

I cannot at the moment locate the RNS that you are referring to but I think that, in any event you may have misinterpreted it. Yes, we are near to completion but we are still looking at a date that will be in the period from the beginning of July to (we anticipate) the end of that month.

Kind regards

Peter

I'm sure the delay is all down to the FCA approving the prospectus...I see several countries have now made the use of cannabis legal...it's hopefully just a matter of time until this goes through...GLA

From 17th May:
"In light of the progress and position the Boards of UK SPAC and of Hellenic now consider that they are in, it has been agreed that 10 June 2022 will the last date on which the right to convert the warrants may be exercised and that no further extensions of time are expected to be granted."

I was certainly expecting an update today - possibly even a further extension despite what PJ said. Has the FCA approved he prospectus? Is it being posted? Has our upgrade to the main market been approved? Date of GM?

"... will keep our shareholders fully informed ..."? Come on then PJ - tell us what's happening. Been almost a year now.
