Basics I think here.

oil at under $35 Tullow has issues

oil above $35 the value increases exponentially but must reduce debt to more managable levels.

Given Tullow has little current exploration upside and a wad of debt, all a takeover bid would consider is a present value discount of field production.

Tullow as a takeover target ?

At the current time, Tullow is poised as a magnificent takeover target, the share price is massively undervaluing the company. Oil price is going to keep rising as demand and production cuts hit at the same time. aviation is also starting back up. Tullow has reached all its in production goals and has even sold some of its assets. We are not going bust but much the other way, next week will be the short squeeze weeks and this will be 70p. Takeover target price of £1.20 IMO, big boys are after assets now especially as the price has risen so much

$35 dollars is to produce free cash flow which means cover production costs, finance costs and ongoing capex costs of future projects etc. Production costs are very low for Tullow sites in Africa.

Pressure to pay finance is due to the hefty cost of them

Maybe someone more in the know can break this down a bit more

Has anyone Done any calculations on what difference rising oil prices will make to Tlw.
Someone has posted that they need 35 Dollars to cover production costs.

Also what Pressure is there to repay or refinance loans in terms of dates.

Do any posters consider a placing as being possible.?

NAV_Mike,

Thanks. Guess that means the share price should start higher on Monday.

BearNecssities,

Well Put. The main point as you put that due to hedges, Tullow has free cash flow from $35 for Brent. And with sale of assets should bring overall debt down. Only issues is getting the sale of Uganda asset through tax authorities and sale of Kenya asset. Then this should rocket IMHO

A return to the 52 week high of 251p from Fridays close of 30p would return a profit of 736%Tlw has to be one of hardest hit plays on the market.

In the closing auction, market participants place buy and sell orders, some at specific prices, some at "market price"

The UT trade is executed at the price at which most buyers and sellers can be matched off

Hence the UT trade is not placed by any one participant, its an automated mechanism of the SETS system itself

A few people bringing up the 'bust' subject, and are so off the mark here it's a bit tiring tbh. This isn't going bust anytime soon.People who are aware of the RNSs, RBL, portfolio management, reduced capex, hedges in place, restructuring, new CEO with financial nouse and vast African oil experience coming on board next month etc etc....(the list goes on), know all this. This was priced to go bust at the 7p range. Please stick to the facts here.Oil where is is right now, Tullow is profitable as their break even is currently $35.This is an excellent recovery stock that is going to survive and thrive, and is still undervalued at current levels. We should be in the 35-40p range as it is.Lots of positive news on the way, finalization of the Uganda asset sale, news of Kenya asset sale amongst other things.Strong buy and hold for me with a short to medium term minimum target of £1.GL all invested.
