08/3/2020 11:05 | Away from the corona panic which is hammering markets, Tullow Oil is poised to unveil the results of its strategic review when it releases its annual results on Thursday. The review was triggered after a series of setbacks for the oil firm which caused its shares to tank. Rumours of a cut-price takeover by Total were quashed last month by the French company’s chief executive. But word reaches me that a private equity firm is circling Tullow, which is valued at £330million. Its identity is unclear at the moment, but perhaps it will be revealed on Thursday. | ![]() the grumpy old men

08/3/2020 09:56 | God if we do see 4000 levels again I will fill my boots with RIO shares LOL! | turvart
08/3/2020 09:55 | Lol Well ultimately what does it matter? Just numbers. All about timing regardless of where it goes It would bring back normality though. . U could trust markets again because the crud weeded out. It's what creates record highs after recessions etc..belief only the strong exist However QE totally skewed that in this run Needs major resetting | sentimentrules
08/3/2020 09:53 | Can you imagine if we did see 4000 levels again, the very first share I bought was AZN back in 2001 and I paid £17.50 for them wish I still held them today LOL. | turvart
08/3/2020 09:52 | I also think they will allow it to happen... Get rates back to normal. End QE It's the only way | sentimentrules
08/3/2020 09:52 | We have historically seen runs of 6900 to 3200.. And 6700 to 3400 It's possible | sentimentrules
08/3/2020 09:50 | I was thinking more of 2008 levels Whilst it may seem extreme now, I think it would be a natural reset. Obviously I wouldn't think it if global personal debt wasn't double and massive debt default runs were not possible etc. We had a record bull run. I feel sure a record bear run follows. ..however that would take it to 3000 lol. So maybe a high percentage of a past bear run | sentimentrules
08/3/2020 09:45 | To go below 4000 would take it back to 2001 when the US bombed Iraq, I think because the earnings are so much better now than in 2001 it would be very hard to see 4000 levels IMO. | turvart |
