21/2/2020 05:09 | February 21, 2020 What’s at Stake for Guyana’s Oil Sector in the Elections? Guyana’s general elections are scheduled for March 2, with the two main parties—ruling coalition A Partnership for National Unity, or APNU, and the opposition People’s Progressive Party, or PPP—vying for the presidency and control of the 65-seat parliament. PPP candidate Irfaan Ali said last month that the government’s deal with ExxonMobil for oil exploration and production offshore Guyana will not be renegotiated, but agreements with other firms, including Tullow Oil, Repsol and Total, would be “examined in totality.” How is Guyana’s electoral race shaping up? Who are the candidates to watch? What are the most important proposals with regard to the oil sector, and what’s at stake for Guyana’s blooming oil production? Valérie Marcel, associate fellow in the energy, environment and resources program at Chatham House: “The stakes of the upcoming elections are high for the little South American-Caribbean nation, as it has just ................... | pro_s2009

19/2/2020 11:37 | Bond prices fallen off a cliff the last 4 weeks, situation really looking desperate. Going to be a placing soon enough to shore up short term debt and/or fire sale of assets. D4E. 19/2/2020 07:51 | Fuji, The world was slipping into a depression in 2008 and QE stopped it. QE has held the whole baby-boomer asset bubble up and only as recently as October 2019 the FED were at it again: There is $300 trillion of investment now facing the prospect of having to pay for banks to house their money and mortgage rates are very very low. See reaction on the gold price. Anyway the point is the traditional inflationary/ higher interest rate recession is not in play. What is in play is central banks constantly patching up cracks and the question is can they keep doing it. Learn about Harry Dent in this scenario. There is no safety in cash. It strikes me that much will be up to China and when the dust settles on the virus they will seriously go for growth. So it could be boom or bust time and in the latter case remember there is no sanctum in a bank or your brokers bank. In the former there could be a nice warm place in commodities. 18/2/2020 19:13 | Apart from Corona is imo the fact TLW was trading at 47p with oil at $53. Now oil at $57 and TLW is trading at 42.50p. Z38 was already capitalised, the Jubilee news flash from last week can only be seen as good news moving forward, upper ends perhaps even and the company should update on that asap. Seems shorts in full force and in full control, what a diabolical situation, do these professional shorters ever speak to more bubbly colleagues or what is their problem actually, because otherwise it can only be fair if TLW starts commenting on their share price to investors and whoever else is long on this share. | ![]() novicetrade68

18/2/2020 10:34 | However, with a few companies already flagging up the negative effect of the coronavirus (Apple, TGP etc.), I would wait before topping up because all the ingredients for a worldwide correction are gathering (the longest bull market coupled with China standstill economy as the trigger). so Miners, oilers and industrials will be the first to be impacted. all the rest will follow, regardless, with the dropping markets. This is my own opinion and I prefer to stay in cash for the time being, as clouds gather. | ![]() fuji99
