When TRIN embarked on their "up to" eight well programme for 2019 they would budget $10m for drilling.
In the past the vertical wells on T&T were drilled using "gapology" (a term Dingwall used in a presentation)this was where people went into the field looked to see if there was an empty space where no drilling had taken place and simply drilled there.
The onshore oil field is so constant and productive that this drilling worked and produced 50 to 70 bpd almost every time.
Using this method if TRIN drilled eight vertical wells costing almost $10m they could expect to achieve an IP total of 400 to 560 bpd.
Obviously their team have come up with a much better way to do things and with 5 vertical wells and one HAW they have achieved 650 bpd at a cost of c $7.5m.( I would suggest that the figure is closer to 700bpd as IP in the HAW should increase)
As our American friends would say "you do the math".
With the price of oil falling the cost of drilling should fall for further wells as activity decreases elsewhere.

A quick look on Google gives break even in US shale as low as $40 for a few but for most it is closer to $60 even before their debt is taken into account.

Onshore TRIN production could be heading for $10 and even if you add in $5 G&A things look rather relaxed here.

With a production of 3400 bpd and a break even at $25 over all their production ( I've taken it down slightly from over $26 due to increased production and reduced drilling costs) if oil is at $40 things still work out nicely and with say $5m /$6m spent on drilling and rolling out SCADA not only could production continue to increase but the cash would continue to roll in.

I'm obviously not aware of any major oversights or miscalculations but it has been known.

Astrocourt, one sure way to increase a loss it to try to make it back !!
Caza is a long time gone but the lesson learned has ensured that all losses are now comfortably recovered.
This is my only oil stock since Caza but I can't bring myself to even think of it as an oil stock, more a money making machine that happens to deal in oil.
Each to his own though.

Having checked and rechecked my figures and being very careful to avoid any bias in the figures I can now say that the recent (largely ignored) drilling results represent a reduction of drilling cost per barrel of at least 25%.
The figures given for previous vertical wells was 50 to 70 bob so 650 bpd IP is easily 10 old wells worth.
As this figure was achieved by drilling 5 (old) vertical wells and one HAW you can see where I was conservative with my 25%

As these new well will have the SCADA equipment fitted we can look forward to the additional bonus of reduced decline rate and decreased running costs.

Not a knicker wetting new discovery but rather nice if making money is your thing and that is TRIN's thing.

Trin’s strength is its business acumen. Its weakness-its secrecy.
In the end a solid business will win out. It just makes it harder/slower/ more painful along the way.
Oil will kick back . Hard.
Trump will beat full impeachment but to re-elect such an ignorant man would be true ignorant folly in itself. So we should see world changes. Give corona time to play out.

Meant Imbert and Rowley-not Khan. I think he is opposition -pledged to abolish SPT FWIW from a politician.
Rowley is actually a vulcanologist.
Perhaps he is really from the planet Vulcan. He just doesn’t get it.
Only pressure will expedite change.
OT hope you got email. I will look at Nov 14th Oili

Spell...that is what I have always believed is the only situation that will incentivise them to even get out of bed. Either that or they will lower the threshold to keep the party going.
