Slice the pie.
This i also a view I share. I said similar only last week.
My feelings about Trin fluctuate according to their performance/ communication or lack of/ and even my own mood. WTI is out of their control . But many things are not. And they are sometimes very poitly addressed ( e.g. PR). But if you don’t see them ss part of your business paradigm then you are likely to ignore them-as Trin do. To feel that the market does what it does and you can’t justifiably influence it is an error but you can tale a horse to water.
Yes Trin is still far too cheap and I would buy if I could.
But I am still shocked by lack of engagement with shareholders and a massive pay rise on a share price 2 year low where some of us are struggling to get by.
You are wrong. I do not disagree with you.
I could mention several companies only this year where directors have taken pay cuts /pay freezes or bonus cuts as they have recognised their responsibility. It does no good to the director’s reputation to be seen as insensitive or inappropriately out of touch or uncaring. I dislike arrogance. I dislike greed. I have encountered both incessantly all my life.It is up to each of us to consider if that is the case has tarnished BD’s reputation.
I have my own very powerful opinions about personal gain. And artogance. I have seen astounding arrogance recently on this chatboard. But the arrogant rarely recognize it in themselves and blame others as a defence. Greed can be the same.
We don’t disagree.

I share nearly all your views HOWEVER Bruce has just taken a huge salary rise with little or no justification. How do you think all the other members of staff feel? He could have taken this over 2/3 years instead he slaps it in shareholders faces at a time when the shares are seriously underperforming.

I appreciate people have lost money here, I've lost a lot myself so I understand the way everyone feels. The main reason for my initial post was to highlight that in my experience companies do read these forums.

Quemaster. I don’t disagree with your sentiments. They are sentiments. You are entitled to say whatever you wish. So are the others who are struggling...even if it is with their own confusions and not knowings.
I thought I had signed out for the day...should have.
You are right but so are they.

well said gabrieloak, I have been to many small company agms and all of them have have admitted to reading these forums at times.

Having had a business with a money grabbing landlord, investors losing confidence and seeing my own stake reducing I know what it feels like when things are not going well. I trust that everyone working for TRIN is doing their best which is why I still hold.

Hi Board,

Just dipped in here to test the temperature...crikey...

Firstly, nocents...meant kindly, perhaps it is time to sell up and take a break, get a bit of a perspective. It sounds like you are having a bit of a breakdown...are you OK friend?

The shares are definitely having a capitulation moment...but you have to ask yourself, is the company actually doing anything obviously wrong? Is there anything wrong with their approach given the current fiscal regime?

If it were me I would be concentrating on running a lean operation, holding on to cash, lobbying government, ADVISING ALL STAFF NOT TO READ WHAT YOU LOT ARE WRITING, keeping morale up, safeguard the BOPD, working on future plans and waiting for a (perversely) lower or higher oil price + fiscal overhaul & assessing whether to buy some shares back if they go much lower.

Do you think that might be what they are doing?

Do you think that they are also feeling the pain of the current malaise? I bet they are. Bruce gets paid to carry that weight and watch his shares go down at the same time...This team want to be drilling and growing...0 wells drilled in Trinidad this year is just plain appalling (It also says everything about what Trinity faces and it is extremely disappointing...but there is the lesson) but perhaps this gov't feel it has played its hand with Petrotrin and cannot amend the SPT policy as it would go across to the electorate as a boon to business while the electorate has suffered.

Answering shareholder's morose emails and erratic communications is hardly going to be at the top of Tracey's agenda. She is not there to prop anyone up psychologically or emotionally. She is not an F'ing nanny! I have often emailed her with specific questions and she replies readily enough to me and others that I know who do the same.

If you don't like the company or Bruce: perhaps do everyone a favour, cut the moaning, sell up, breathe deeply and move on to fresh pastures? Whingeing here does nothing for anyone...mainly yourselves.

Finally, with a comprehensive SPT overhaul and a modestly favourable oil price and this company (£40mln mkt cap) doubles (and then some) in intrinsic value. The trade is simple: how many shares do you want to leave on the table to achieve this result if that might take until after next year's T&T general election? If the answer is none: sell and move on.
