This has been a set-back but there's some good news in there too - the estimates of minersalisation in the new seams are high or at high concentrations.

callmebwana - Cheers. All is OK. One has to always consider the long term. These blip-things happen all the time for every stock.

Fuji99.
I hope all is well with you. We have crossed paths a couple of times.
Yes, wait for the dust to settle. In the end things will be fine IMO.

The share price will recover with time and future updates. So best to keep cool and just forget about it for now.

Unfortunately share price has collapsed. Have to wait for it to stabilise now before considering what to do.

RodnikovaThe Rodnikova deposit is not reflected in this Mineral Resource Estimate. The Company has engaged a different Competent Person to prepare a Mineral Resource Estimate to be reported in accordance with the JORC Code (2012), which should be complete in January 2020.

I haven't read the detail but that's quite a change in estimated resource.

Agree that this drop caused by profit taking is a good opportunity to enter this long term hold. I can see it on the steps of POLY. TSG has a good management team and has decent sales and profit. If one adds turmoil in the middle east, this will push gold higher.

Taking the opportunity to top up. Pog looking very strong and sudden unexplained jump in share price leads me to believe good news is on the way.

As this is more than 70% controlled by one entity a lot will depend on their own investment targets. TSG is just one of the assets in their portfolio.

An M&A may provide liquidity on their investment and/or scope to accelerate growth.

i don't really care if they use magic carpets to get about … you do what is necessary. The business model stacks up & they are now paying a dividend.

Rodnikova looks like it will take them up to a whole new level of production:

"LONDON: 1 December 2011 - Trans-Siberian Gold plc ("TSG") (TSG.L) is pleased to report that the Russian State Commission for Reserves has approved the expert opinion on the Report on Reserves and Pre-feasibility study of the Rodnikova deposit, with a recommendation for underground mining.

The Commission has recorded Rodnikova's mineral resources as 5.8 million tonnes of ore in the C1+C2 categories, at an average grade of 5.3 g/t gold and 44.6 g/t silver, at 2 g/t gold cut-off, with C1+C2 category reserves of 30,887.6 kg gold and 258.3 tonnes silver.

Russian government is very keen to support its domestic gold mining industry & see it grow such that Russia becomes the largest gold producer in the world

I get what you're all saying, but TSG IS in the same region as POG and the overheads are unusual. (How much DO they rely on helicopters? These cost approx. $1600 / hour. The infrastructure where they are is virtually nil.) The reason I say POG could not take over TSG is that POG still have too much debt, which they will not want to increase. IMHO both share prices would rise a lot if they did merge. Otherwise Mattjos, yes, TSG is fine - I just want it to be finer!

Why on earth would they consider to sell or be bought out? They've just acquired new acreage to exploit, gold is firmly in an uptrend & the company is in great shape.Just keep doing what you're doing so well already please TSG

A merger of TSG with a smaller outfit like CGH would make much more sense as the cash flow from TSG could instantly transform the prospects of the merged group, allowing them to more strategically and organically develop the various assets. For POG having TSG's additional cash flow would barely be noticeable, in the short term anyway. In the long term POG have more than enough to get on with, I don't see the added value there.

A more likely M&A candidate for POG could be e.g. GV Gold (more than 300k pa oz). One of the recent significant shareholders in POG has expressed an interest in buying GV Gold, which could make a merger more likely if it were to happen.

I don't see much much geographical synergy between POG and TSG. For example, look at

Of course, there are always potential savings to be made in corporate overheads when any two companies merge, but these savings alone rarely compensate the one-off costs and organizational disruption involved.

POG is large enough to takeover TSG

What POG & TSG ought to do is merge! No way either could takeover the other, but a merger would create synergies that would propel both to another level. Not sure LOM all that important when Kamschatsky so abs. enormous. That the really exciting thing for TSG...

This may explain the recent rise. Reduced energy costs but higher than previous stated cost. POG doing well this morning . Still no news on the LOM though !

Positive news..

Alexander Dorogov, Chief Executive Officer of TSG, commented:

"We are pleased that Trans-Siberian Gold will benefit from the continued support of our local energy provider in 2020, significantly reducing our energy costs as we operate at the lower levels of the Asacha Gold Mine. Lower energy costs materially reduce the financial burden for companies operating in the Far East of Russia, and these regional economic growth incentives reaffirm the attractiveness of the region for investment."
