On the cusp of a 3 year highFollow that trend it's a pity the spread is so wide or I would buy a few more

Presumably this means more capital expenditure and therefore less prospect of special dividends in the near future?

Regardless, I've added.

I have to say I am totally surprised by today's news, it is a material event and totally unexpected, it typifies this company approach, they simply get on with the job and deliver.

I fully believe there will be a material valuation uplift accordingly, the licence is for 20 years, clearly the deposit is massive and high grade.

I expect new broker coverage, the current target price of 97p looks too low.

Wow was not expecting that, what an amazing deal, remember the dividend yield was over 12% in 2018.

UPDATE

What an amazing news update today - this company has secured a 1m oz high grade gold deposit only 50km from their existing project for only $3m

'High-grade gold-silver vein deposit is one of the largest gold fields in South Kamchatka'

Given the choice between AAZ and TSG, I would take the latter. True, AAZ is a low-cost producer that has managed its project successfully. What worries me, though, is its poor reserve. With an open pit, once the ore is all mined, it's curtains. Perhaps there are underground and nearby small opencast possibilities, but there are other explorers and developers with much bigger potential that are very cheap now.

TSG has respectable reserve for an underground mine and, as is common with such mines, the reserve has a habit of being extended as the mine progresses.

I would be careful with the comparison to AAZ. Yes it rerated to 95 but then dropped to 70s and on a few occasions dipped to 60s. The concensus has been for a while that the share price should be nearly doubled based on fundamentals but simply it is not.TSG produces roughly half of AAZ with comparable cost.TSG has been enjoying a steep share price rise?reflecting its fundamentals but a retrace may occure instead of a further share price rise as it happened to AAZ.Reason? As people say .... It is AIM for you ?I hope it will not happen.Have a nice weekend.

Trans Siberian is in a similar place to where AAZ was positioned - they had a long period of share price consolidation before a move from under 40p to 97p within one month - the key driver being their dividend yield.

I fully expect TSG to pay another special dividend in 2019, this means the yield would exceed 10% at the current stock price.

The other option would be to do away with the special dividend and increase the interim and final dividend in line with the current 3.9p special dividend payment.

Either way the shares are very very cheap at current levels.
