12/10/2016 11:29 | Septblues I don't think it is anything to do with the air that services personnel breathe. Certainly there is no indication of that. The disciplines that TP Group will be providing are given in the release as: 'TPG will initially supply four specialists to provide client side support by bringing expert skills in disciplines such as Systems Engineering, Project and Programme Management and Business Analysis that are not available within the Army's own resources.' | the prophet
12/10/2016 11:22 | If this is about the air that services personel breathe then the army has more people than the navy selling 4 people into the services is easy once one has approvals - the difficult piece is becoming approved. | septblues
12/10/2016 11:14 | tiltonboy fair enough, I can see it is a new development and, as such, these things have to start off small. I guess we all grade it according to how we feel! So far: PA 'very signficant' TB 'significant' me 'interesting' Clearly it could develop into something more, but do TP group want to go down the specialised staffing agency route? I don't think the margins are too good and then you have to deal with the ebb and flow of businesses. It's an area I've always avoided as an investor. But I can see the attractions to TP group, stuck with the non-performing bits and the lumpy Air Control, another string to their bow may well be desirable. I guess, from the sounds of it, they are also gearing up for another acquisition, that could well be pivotal in how TP do going forwards, as with the current collection of bits its something of an uphill struggle. We will see. So far the market has given it's vote on today's piece of news, but it doesn't merit a mark-down, imo, more like neutral I would have thought. | the prophet
12/10/2016 10:57 | TP, I think it is significant (not by size), by nature. | tiltonboy
12/10/2016 10:39 | I can't see how it can be a 'very significant order' etc when the news is a RNSNON. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is a 'RNSNON' is very different from a RNS. A RNSNON is not price sensitive material. Obviously RNSNON is a useful way to keep investors informed, and I'm all for that.A bit like the previous contract for heat exchangers, walkways etc that was also RNSNON. I would imagine the revenues and margins on this deal are both pretty small, TP acting as a specialised staffing agency. Still, every little helps. But let's not build it up into something it is clearly not, possibly 'interesting', but significant? Clearly not, as TPG themselves acknowledge. | the prophet
12/10/2016 10:32 | "Not sure about Cartmell's Vega days but this unit has it's roots in the original Wellman Defence business" We're going to agree to disagree on this one. Wellman Defence and its previous incarnations are and have always been about air purification and re-oxygenation systems and nothing else. Managed Solutions is a totally different business model, it just happens to be an MoD supplier as well. | rolling ronnie
12/10/2016 10:25 | RR my mistake was that the original businesses were Wellman Hunt Graham ( heat exchangers) and Wellman Defence ( air purifications). So instead of saying "Hunt" I should have said "Wellman" Not sure about Cartmell's Vega days but this unit has it's roots in the original Wellman Defence business. | pavey ark
12/10/2016 09:34 | "I have been banging on about the potential of this unit for some time and all the more gratifying when you consider that it is a spin off from the original Hunt submarine business." Please forgive small corrections and pedantry but, for the sake of accuracy, Hunt were the Heat Exchanger business in Dukinfield. Managed Solutions has nothing to do with TPG Maritime, it's something Phil Cartmell has resurrected from the Vega days. | rolling ronnie
12/10/2016 08:58 | A very significant order/contract for the Managed Solutions unit. I have been banging on about the potential of this unit for some time and all the more gratifying when you consider that it is a spin off from the original Hunt submarine business. | pavey ark
12/10/2016 07:44 | Even doubters must see this as a company on the up. Forget the past | timojelly
12/10/2016 07:08 | No numbers but a good move for managed solutions, tip of the iceberg.. | timojelly
09/10/2016 12:45 | Just back from my holiday, nice to see the shares at the recent highs. | chickenrun1

06/10/2016 14:24 | I agree with pretty much everything the prophet has recently said. Ok many of us took a punt on the dgc and lost including myself.Pavey's postings are fairly transparent in that he holds a position which dictates his sentiment.Anyway things look harder to call on the share price at the moment. Resistance at 6p the floor at 2p. I would only purchase on excess weakness.Something i have wanted to know for a long time is did all the old corac employees get the sack. Anyone know the numbers that are left. | ricardo125
06/10/2016 12:04 | Incredible scent, especially the yellow Azalea (lutea). However, the genus Azalea is now Rhododendron, so the correct name is Rhododendron luteum hxxp://ign.ku.dk/arb | the patient investor
06/10/2016 11:30 | TPI Deciduous Azaleas are my favourite flowers, rhododendrons come a very close second, they provide greenery in winter. My garden is full of them, in pots and in the ground. I have cloned a number of both. | azalea
06/10/2016 11:20 | Pavey - thanks for making that clear - you don't know either. Oh well, there's always the submarines ;¬) | supernumerary
06/10/2016 11:13 | thank you Bullster and tiltonboy. | the prophet
06/10/2016 11:02 | TP, I believe TPG are making good progress, and it just may be that Cartmell is assembling a nice little business here, but his record since joining CRA does not inspire confidence. I'm all for good, honest analysis of companies, but when they are a long way from consensus, you are right to question the validity of the assumptions. I'm afraid there are far too many people who spend too much time on certain boards, where there is no etiquette. I have been threatened numerous times over the years by posters who try to belittle, but they soon disappear, as they move on with their agendas to other BB's using a different name. Thankfully, I generally frequent good quality boards, which are populated by top quality posters who contribute exceptional quality research. | tiltonboy
06/10/2016 10:59 | The Prophet, Although i am more bullish about the future of TPG than you, i do recognize that your research goes back further and deeper than most, here. I know that you won't be deterred from posting, which is a good thing. | bullster
06/10/2016 10:32 | I do love this, says it all really!..... the patient investor Member since: 10 Sep 2016 | the prophet
06/10/2016 08:36 | Pavey Thanks for your thorough posts but... Why on earth are u wasting time with that idiot. You are becoming ridiculous as he is. Filter him We know this company will do well, you seem to try to convince yourself not him. Believe me, filter him, it works | the patient investor
06/10/2016 08:31 | Azalea Agree100% I have filtered them, so easy! Why that name by the way? I am a garden designer | the patient investor |
