Looks like an AIP research contract just in.
£770k but highly significant in terms of future revenue.

Worth noting, in a recent job vacancy for a Head of Business Development
that trips to the Middle East may be required.

nap14, yes I'm getting a bit restless myself.
I think the problem stems from the pre fund raising statement that they were talking to a number of companies and we thought that they would get the cash and move quickly.
In fairness to the management they did quite clearly state that they hoped to finalise ONE DEAL by the end of the year but it does seem a very long time when you are expecting a deal at any time.
An additional problem, if you can call it that, is the large order from the MoD and from BAe means that the news flow of orders is reduced and there is not the boost of orders regularly appearing in RNS form.
I believe it is company policy not to announce individual orders of much less than £500k so unless we get an additional submarine order from Europe or the Far East it may look like nothing much is happening.

Recent answer to a sharp e-mail question sent by a mate of mine on another site (FWIW):

"TPG - got a PR / anodyne response

"TP Group continues to focus on growing its activity with global customers and partners in Europe, the Americas and South-East Asia. The Group is also leveraging existing skills and capabilities into additional verticals, including secure systems, aerospace and precision manufacturing. TP Group is continuing to evaluate a number of acquisition targets and remains focused on completing the first of these before the end of the calendar year and will update the market via the regulatory news channel. "

PA - yes, the more long term maintenance we get, the safer the company becomes.
IMO peeps are getting a bit restless after going for the fundraising, as there is no sign of any acquisitions. If that means TPG are not rushing in to buy at a higher price than they will have to later, that's fine by me!
_______

I came across this whilst trawling the internet. A very dated ('50s/'60s?) but competent layman's description of what a submarine is made of.... Even I understood it, but it doesn't cover nuclears. Still, gives an idea of the sort of machines we're interested in.........

Unhelpful ?
I went back and read it again incase I missed anything.
Far from unhelpful it shows why the navy was so willing to sign long and valuable contracts with TPG.
I don't think the navy's need to get things sorted out was lost on the TP negotiating team.
I can't remember that there has ever been any suggestion that TP didn't or couldn't deliver equipment or spares when required.

ebw80,
The recent investment in a specialist, precision engineering unit was aimed at the the nuclear and the aerospace industries.

Spent some time yesterday going over the figures, again (waiting in for a large, home delivery).
Best and clearest picture is from the results RNS on their own site and near the end is a clear breakdown of Maritime, Engineering,D&T and MS.

The brokers forecasts are for an EBITDA of £2.5m and £2.6m my figure is £2.7m but lets go with £2.6m.

The dreaded compressor losses are now minimal and the new MS solution business is certainly going well.
The D&T and MS units together are expected to make a profit in H2 and go on from here.
The Maritime unit will produce an EBITDA of c. £5m this year and it still on the up.

My calculation is for engineering to make a loss of c £840k for the year but given the investment and transformation this is to be expected (the loss is falling over the last three half years)

If I'm correct then my long term prediction of 50% per year share price growth would be spot on.
(£2.7x10 +7)/420=8.1p. (3.6p,5.4p,8.1p)
(provided the market applied the same measures !!)

Obviously the fund raising has distorted everything but the recent acquisitions (Feb) are doing very well and recently the company have said they expect pay back in four years,so if these sort of figures can be replicated we are certainly set to go.

Just for fun here is my year end EBITDA figures for 2017

Maritime. Engineering. D&T+MS. Central Costs

£5m. (£0.85m). (£0.2m). (£1.2m). EBITDA. £2.75m

D&T + MS are now in profit (H2) Maritime is always going up and Engineering can only get better.
Without the additional funds I could see an EBITDA of well over £4m next year.

The fund raising and expansion could work out very well but this company had been well and truly turned round BEFORE the fund raising.

Just read an article about Rolls Royce being in the verge of a £100b nuclear programme. I’m wondering if this means we may see some orders coming out of the fit for nuclear engineering division to support this.

The government have got to do something to support the power generating deficit that is expected and the engineering division look likely to benefit from it.

I imagine that TPG Maritime already have the relationships at RR from the submarine programme so it seems like a logical step (edited for typo).

TrentEndBoy,
I have been trading Crude oil (WTI) and have made enough profit to take a big loss should TPG collapse for some reason.During Brexit in June this year,i went long on Bellway when it came down to under £16.00 and closed the position at over £30.
Occasionally one must take calculated risks with money they have made and can afford to lose.

You are seriously suggesting that directors always get things right? It would make investing easy if that was the case.Wait for placement or director buys are open a long spreadbet?LaughableAny spreadbet especially those on very small caps is usually large so it needs to move a lot to get in the money and even getting stop losses on is not always so simple.Good luck to him but the the odd are stacked against you with bets like this

TrentEndBoy are you really a serious investor, who understands the stock market?
At the time of the offer, which most of the Director's took up,the shares taken up by the Directors was almost 2 million shares at a price of 6.50pence(offer) can you really anticipate the price touching 5.50 pence on offer? Mind you i purchased some shares at 5.50 pence or there abouts sometime ago.Everything about TPG is positive at the moment
but who is to say what might happen. My gut feeling is that as soon as an announcement is made regarding a purchase of a company the share price may increase.

So if TP had fallen by just pence you would be down tens of thousands. Nuts on micro shares like this given the upward move needed just to breakeven
