240 is surely too pessimistic. When TOMK hit that level, over a year ago, they were 12p under their 200 day average. At Friday's close they were 32p under their 200 day MA; 260 is surely now safe support, barring major incidents which affect the whole market. I'm a buyer at these levels.

It will be interesting to see if the 260p support level holds on 5% div growth TOMK yield 5.3% at 260p and 5.8% at 240p.I bought a few at 261p in case this is the low , but 240p is a much stronger support level.

I didn't think we would see 240 again but looking possible now we are down to 260 again.

Big fall today, should come back if Dow goes well, especially with prospects of a stronger dollar

A weaker dollar is good for Tomkins because they can sell more products in more countries, increase their market share in areas where they are market leader and grow the company. There will be a temporary reduction in profits when considered on sterling terms, that is why they quote figures in the reports on a constant currency basis.
I hope they fall to £2.60 again so I can top up, sound company sleep at night holding these shares and good dividends.

One area of ongoing concern is the weakness of the dollar which will hits translated earnings

That's how it seems to work nowadays unless the results are more than expected you get a fall in the share price no matter how good they are... Drop well over done should recover tho as at the end of the day results were good... imho

Any reason for the large fall? Results looked OK

well, i wouldnt agree that its a breakout just yet.

it made a high of 345 on 28th feb, and a higher high of 349 on 7th april. looked good for a recovery based on its recent trading trend from its low yesterday. If it can reach 349, and break through on good volume, then it might be a breakout.

Typical market reaction to a placing cut the price and buy the placing.
Anybody know what interest rate is paid to the preference shares, more or less than then the dividend? Could be a good move for Tomkins possibly increasing earnings.
