06/2/2003 12:23 | Good uptick today. Feel I detect a swing in sentiment towards good divi stocks which have limited downside in uncertain times. | davet1p
27/1/2003 19:32 | today's closing price has put the share at the border line between the uptrend/downtrend. where will it go from here? looking at the price having spent quite some time around the 200p area and breaking lower it means distribution is complete. this may be a bad omen folks although the broader market will dictate selling pressure ahead. | junnnn
15/1/2003 07:45 | nice results,,quality company....more to come surely.....all the best | l2e
14/1/2003 09:51 | Results above expectations so no doubt a need boost for the price. Profitability could be better but Nichols appears to be spending some money to improve things (and no doubt reward his options package). Definately not a sell after these results. | scripophilist
14/1/2003 08:19 | These are now looking very cheap after the amazingly positive trading statement! | tompion
06/1/2003 19:54 | I see these closing up @ 206p tommorrow. | transittrader
27/12/2002 20:30 | Strength of dollar will hurt UK earnings but those reported in UK GAAP will be fine. | scripophilist
20/12/2002 11:19 | Hmm - just looking at share dates on Sharescope and interim announcement due from tomk on 14/1/03 - likely rise in price prior to this? | teeps
19/12/2002 09:06 | Zedder - think this will stay within it's consolidating pattern range 190p - 220p into January. Have closed a short position down at the lower level but will not open a long over christmas with triple witching tomorrow - ftse 100 chart does not look good at mo. | teeps
18/12/2002 16:51 | Looking at 3 year chart, it seems to do well in first half of the year: If it falls below 180p in January, I could be very tempted. Probably need to get the Iraq situation over and done with first though. Might see a sustained rally in the strength of the dollar assuming this goes well! | zedder
18/12/2002 16:48 | The first bit from the Nov Update: LONDON (AFX) - Tomkins plc, the engineering group, said first half operating profit before exceptional items was "slightly ahead" of the previous year, despite the weakening of the dollar. Dollar now weakening all the time. Have held before, but not at the moment. Watching from the sidelines. | zedder
18/12/2002 16:42 | Still managed to hold within pattern - if mkt moves up tomorrow expect this to turn north again given it survived the ftse sell off. Am I just speaking to myself here or are there any lurkers? Don't be shy, post your view. | teeps
18/12/2002 14:24 | Hmm - 190p level still intact but 3 directors have sold a cumulative total of approx 98k shares in Tomk - wonder if this will impact the price to the downside? | teeps
18/12/2002 00:00 | Well the volume has certainly picked up today - could be either a breakout or a turning point. If it doesn't close below 190p today then I guess there is every likelihood for the share to move back to the 220p upper limit. If it closes below 190p then I see a move down to 176p ish as initial resistance and then onwards down to 155p - 160p after a retracement, probably, to the 190p resistance level. All imho, dyor - other views welcome. | teeps
17/12/2002 16:19 | Anyone any views on whether the protected trades were actually sells? Massive volume so today is going to be the decider on this stock - still above 190p but the ftse is tanking. | teeps
16/12/2002 23:39 | Hmm Still above the 190p mark but reasonable volume though can't say it's picking up - surprised it didn't try to rally on a day when the ftse managed 105 points. Indicators all still travelling south but the breakout to the downside still hasn't materialised on a closing day price basis. | teeps
13/12/2002 15:58 | Well thru' 200p yesterday and have broken below the 190c-189p region which has marked tyhe lower boundary of this rectangular consolidation pattern. Will be interesting to see what the final volume is for today - significant trades seem to occur in the auction. Volume appears to be rising over the last week but still declining thru' the formation of the rectangle. One point to note is that macd has now turned down as has the rsi. Not sure we will breakout of the pattern this time round but the current market does not look good and therefore will not be going long to ride any possible move to the upside of the rectangle. This will breakout to the downside I think, but when who knows. | teeps
09/12/2002 17:36 | i do and was really hoping on it going down but is stubborn at 200p may well close if it hots lower 190s | harleymaxwell
09/12/2002 13:00 | Does no-one have a position in this stock? 200p proving strong resistance. | teeps
09/12/2002 05:10 | Been watching this one for a while - will be interesting to see if it dips below 200p this week - have lower range of consolidation around 192p and an upper range of 218p-220p. 200 day ema dropping and wouldn't be surprised to see an attempt to breach this i.e. thinking of a long if price dips into the low 190s with a tight stop. expecting a silly season rally to kick in and drive the price higher. Anyone with positions currently? Comments welcome | teeps
28/11/2002 12:30 | chart breakout has occured,230 imo possible now. | wizzz
28/11/2002 09:44 | imo a rise today to around 215p would confirm the breakout. | wizzz |
