27/8/2004 20:27 | Newspapers were pretty positive today and one broker upgraded with a £3 target. Looking for a steady rise to £3 which seems possible given the results. | tompion
26/8/2004 08:06 | Buyers coming in now. Should start to creep up. | seva
26/8/2004 07:07 | Results seem OK and bit better than expected with reasonably positive comments about second half.. | tompion
24/8/2004 10:18 | Errrrmmm.........I'm a long term holder too but what's all this talk about "good dividend and safe"? The div in 1999 was 15.15p, it was 17.45p in 2000, it dropped to 12p in 2001 and 2002 and they paid an equivalent 8p for the 8 months of 2002/3. Needless to say, not my best long-term investment! Regards, Ian | jeffian
24/8/2004 10:04 | Thanks Denny, I'm a long term holder of Tomkins, I like the divi too, been hoping for £3 for some time but always dissapointed when they get near £2.80. This company has done a lot of the difficult work in cutting costs, moving production to eastern block countries and should be clearly ahead of the oppposition like GKN who are finally having to catch up. Here's hoping for some news to cheer the market on thursday. | iangill
23/8/2004 16:05 | I like Tomkins - good dividend and safe. Not good times at the moment with the weak dollar etc and the share price has slipped back, but hopefully the results will be seen as pretty good in the circumstances. Looking for £3 but not sure it is going to get there for quite ba while. | tompion
23/8/2004 15:50 | Crikey it is quiet here isn't it, Interims will be announced on Thursday. I bought I to these a week or so ago (ADR on US market) so here hoping. Denny | denny
19/8/2004 08:42 | Anyone know when the interims are due to be announced? | iangill
21/5/2004 10:32 | That's "down" as in "up", is it?! | jeffian
21/5/2004 07:37 | Poor results. Down today. | josephmsmith
23/4/2004 08:16 | Any ideas what is driving the price up. A couple of months ago they were falling because of worries about the weak dollar reducing earnings. | iangill
22/4/2004 21:02 | I ain't a chart person but doesn't Tomkins look interesting at the moment! | tompion
22/9/2003 18:04 | US $ pressure on overseas income and automotive markets still difficult? Dividend Yield now less than UK Banks, looks ahead of itself despite recent pullback. Strong management though IMO so will look for opportunity to buy back in. | madgooner
03/9/2003 19:18 | well i,m still holding well done tomk, another divi soon. | mark93
01/7/2003 07:01 | Redemption of Gates Family Preference shares should remove restrictions on upward movement caused by prospective dilution. Chart is less positive I believe. | madgooner
12/6/2003 01:27 | Sitting on the sidelines and warming the bench is never any fun. It seems that after months of uncertainties, recently released data shows that investors are starting to get back into the game. This indicates that investors are becoming more optimistic about the market's performance in the next few months. 28/5/2003 22:18 | Durable figs for US are dissappointing, esp. automotives. TOMK looks ahead of itself to me. Good Management now in place, but PE, Div Yield and prospects now out of sync. Or am I just jealous for selling at 2.08?! Looking to get back in at 180. | madgooner
22/5/2003 09:02 | Retracement to c 205p (early next week) before further Up move to c 240p ? | pkvidean
19/5/2003 09:58 | Snow's comments on US acceptance of further dollar weakness would seem negative for a stock with significant US Dollar earnings. | madgooner
08/5/2003 09:00 | If it holds the 220 level it looks like 245/250 initially. | mgmoore
06/5/2003 17:11 | Chart starting to look good, isn't it? | tompion
04/3/2003 02:48 | Results out this morning. Expect forecasts to be beaten and this to be trading 200p+ during the day. Good long term prospects; a robust stock that ignores what's going on in the rest of the world! Good lock all holders. AI | aioannou
07/2/2003 00:50 | Hey Davet1p - speak more quietly - you just killed the upswing. | tompion
06/2/2003 13:00 | Too tempting a rise for traders I think. | davet1p |
