14/1/2022 14:22 | Well done to you and keeping the faith. I'm just chuffed making £1 profit. loopholes?? a tax expert can help you. | mustau
14/1/2022 14:22 | smacker, I know just seeing if others have a similar experience nothing more. Knigel, you can take 25% a year allowance but watch it doesn't tip you over the £50k a year income tax allowance. eg if you earn say £30k a year salary, that would leave you £20k to drawdown from a SIPP (25% of that £20k would be tax free ie £5k so you taxable income would be £45k in total, keeping you under the £50k at 20% income tax band, After that it gets taxed at 40%. Sorry if I am quoting what you already know. If you just go for the one off 25% then that's it, no 25% allowance for future drawdowns. | intoodeep
14/1/2022 14:18 | Well if you're taxed you're making money. But you're right.. taxes in bloody everything. No wonder so much cash gets lost offshore | smackeraim
14/1/2022 14:16 | I dunno Taxed when you earn, taxed when you spend, taxed you invest and then taxed when you die....it's never ending. Mustau, yes a nice problem to have indeed considering 2 months ago I was struggling to see a return on anything. Funny old world and can change so quickly at times. | intoodeep
14/1/2022 14:15 | I am 55 this September and can access my SIPP and TNT is by far the largest holding so will need to know how to access the 25% tax free element (in one go or in stages?) soon... might hit the lifetime allowance IF TNT goes beyond £8 and I suspect a few of us will be in the same boat GL | knigel |
