The only people to blame are those that have run the company for the past few years and those that allowed the high debt level to grow. Not the banks who are set to lose millions. Not the government who refused to give them a free 200m that they knew they would never see again. And certainly not brexit that no doubt the remainders will be blaming by tea time.

Wrongful Trading and Personal Liability
If the official receiver’s investigation finds that the directors are guilty of wrongful or fraudulent trading and mismanagement of the insolvent company they may face further consequences. This includes:

Being made personally liable for company debts
Disqualification as a director and of all future appointments as a director
A fine

This is what you get having CEOs getting paid millions for not making the company a single penny profits. Bailout would only fill those BODs more millions while creditors are not confident that things can be turned around.

R.I.P my £25,000

the killer was surely websites like "homeaway.com" or "airbnb" that offer excellent value compared to the cheesy package holidays at thomas cook.

RBS and 250 not to blame.
There are massive holes here.

Sorry for all those jobs let’s hope they quickly find another one.
Capacity out of UK market is huge and the swoop for assets will begin

Look on the bright side. We will never have to listen to the inane "Don't just book it, Thomas Cook it!!" ever again. Thank the good Lord for small mercies.
