Downer is the most miserable fish wife going. Rumour is she lost it all betting big on Debenhams and now has a grudge against all things consumer and retail. She spends her life moaning and being smelly

Toasty, if the screenshot and photo of a computer screen are real then all it proves are that you have a hugely loss-making position in THG. Not sure why you would be proud of that as it screams "I don't know what I'm doing!"

What happened to your previous account and all the posts associated with it?

I have the Downer on filter but can imagine the negative commentary on cosmetics. The truth is there has been a product shift with more money being spent on face creams and other luxury items and less on traditional lipsticks etc.

The important factor for THG is income and profit not product specific sales volume.

I go back to the new Chairman buying 1,150,000 shares!

Fair comment, I am wary of giving any valuation on a company without a history of making a profit most analyst get things wrong on IP0's.

It is a sad state for the company however and I don't give a hoot as to the company founder beleiving the company is undervalued if he was really convinced with that argument why has he not ried to take the company private?

I suppose part the argument is getting finance but then you could argue why hasn' he been able to do the same with an institution on board?

I mean come off it, it wasn't long ago MARKS market cap fell to near £1.3 billion and I know which I would prefer to buy and it isn't HUT group you cannot eat cosmetics !

When money dries up you have to eat you can do without much of the rest.

Sure if you were so sure why didn’t you buy or short it at the right time. Show me your profits. There is none you absolute bell end. I’ve said it before I don’t buy to sell, I buy to hold unless something changes. If you can’t even take 30 percent off 80p easily then you are a complete tube.

FV is 80p based off my DCF. 30% off is c.60p (I am not even going to bother responding to your pathetic 30% maths taunt).

I am constantly re-evaluating. I think I will need to increase the WACC with the latest inflation figures in the US . The Kd and Ke are both going higher. That could lob another chunk off the valuation (I know I have lost you at this point Toansy but don't worry you just stick to your normal investing method i.e. guessing). I saw your earlier post re your holdings - what is the AIM company you are in - I see you have losses on that also - do you any stocks in the black or is it all just losses? Genuine question. The fact you have a big chunk on one AIM stock just confirms to me what a gambler you really are.

Toasny you most certainly haven't been listening to me - if you had you would have sold at 0.5m profit and would now be sitting on £1.5m ready to invest again at 60p. Instead you are sitting on a £0.5m loss. What did I say when this was £1.45 odd - I said it would crash like a stone once the bids go away and what happened? You laughed me off and from memory told me it was 6-0 to you whilst Guffawing. What's the score now pal?

Debs - it is a fair challenge. My model projects them generating FCF from year 6 which then increases and I take out to perpetuity from year 10. That gets me a valuation. I would say 60p would seem a decent entry point. HOWEVER I need to update my WACC in this evolving environment which could lead to further DOWNGRADES.

Some comms from management would be nice.

Debsdowner, just a polite question by me.
Why have you not bought any shares in BEG,FRP and K3C. I call them the Vulture Bunch. All three handle mergers and accusations also liquidations. I hold all three. BEG results out on the 19th. that money is going to buy me more THG shares.

I think we are close to the bottom now. If they can make some changes to the management team - even I would be interested. I don't see much further downside but they have to come out on the front foot and reiterate guidance/margins - the markets are so fluid that comms is needed.

How do you base the bottom on?

Without any signals of pre tax profits in the short term and a fast changing economy with a global recession upon us I don't see how you can quantify where the bottom is.

The market cap is circa £900 million and for what?

Is the company going to make at the very least £90 million after tax ?

If not the share price has a lot further to fall imo.

These forums are littered with retail skeletons of companies gone bust and there will be more to come, insolovencies have climbed sharply the last few months and 9 out of 10 people will struggle to pay some of their bills before year end say the resolution foundation.

If a company doean't make money it isn't worth much at all.

What a load of nonsense. Your FV target you have changed several times. Now your saying it’s probably at the bottom but I’ll only invest if it goes to 60p.

You have to have free capital to invest. Judging by your comments on every other share investing is not what you do :)

I think we have said all we need to. Now don’t go anywhere when I win the battle here. Make sure you stay around won’t ya. Like the last time lol. If your right in a few years and I lose my money I’ll say you were right. but don’t go away now if it’s the other way round 😚

One must try a little harder Toansy but is that how you make those all important investment decisions, by considering outdated information albeit from over five years ago so its little wonder why you're having such a great time of it with THG, hehe!
