If trends follow the 2008/10 recession people will shy away from large capital spending instead favouring personal treats of lower cost. Beauty treatments etc.. THG are very well placed if that is the case

In the UK the hedge fund shorts rarely get fried it’s the PI shorts (using CFDs and SBs) every time.
In the UK they always prepare an exit as witnessed today - UK reporting rules work in their favour.

If it's in anyones interest to turn this around and burn the shorts, it's MM himself, as the founder and biggest shareholder.

He got offered 4x todays market cap in 2018, i'm sure that same PE firm would chop his hand off to buy it at the same price, however ultimately MM wouldn't even entertain it. It would have to be something astronomical for him to give up his 'baby'!

see the tech space in the USA is trying to bounce the NASDAQ traders have had a volatile ride but if the results show real momentum at the same time as tech investors return it may well all help to improve sentiment....

Thanks to whoever mentioned Esys on here in the last month or so. Results this Thursday and the whispers are they're very good.
Think esys will atleast bag over next 48 hours.

Even with inflation, the company should still be valued at higher levels. It has strong cash position.Private equity firms were sniffing in feb when mkt cap was near 1.6bn.

You have a problem if inflation is greater than 5 percent.

Yes but the major concern will be the outlook for rest of 2022 but can it be that bad?????
Share price is already down 50%+ since the Jan 22 company update.

Ever since the fake news article when share price was over 125p in feb, thg have not really recovered.Clearly hedgefunds shorting this so they can get it on the cheap. ImhoIf q1 trading has been in line with directors opinion i can see a recovery here.

Makes sense given today’s trading.
Closed his short and went long.
Let’s hope he was right?
Sure there were many doing the same (including a few hedge funds) but none of us know for sure what Thursday will bring?

I am happy with the 60K shs purchase today with an average of 88.45p. I am looking forward to selling min 120p, but I think I will get lucky with 200p on 22 April 2022.

Fortune favours the braves.

Hope this helps.

Why do PIs not understand that these are not after-hours trades.
Just either large single but more likely an amalgamation of smaller off book trades usually from broker dark pools (or/and CFDs but less likely here) registered on the LSE ledger after the close.
Could be from days ago but in this case again unlikely.
Can’t be identified as buys or sells - tells us absolutely nothing except that if they are large then Hedge Funds we’re likely active during the day - hedge funds normally exclusively use their own brokers dark pool to trade at the lowest possible cost and to disguise their trading.
Possibly more likely buys as well off lows of the day on huge volume - held above 88.2p all day.
Most likely shorts closing through their broker dark pools.

cloaks and daggers. most likely shorters closing 1 day before update!

with the static share price for a few hours, that trade explains today's shenanigans!

oh well they have 1 day left!
